Peerless Price

pretty good considering the effect of Bledsoe w/ Buffalo.
Bledsoe disproved any doubters this weekend.

I will sign out & take your comments.

I for one think that Price will get some playing time and see a few balls head his way this week, but I don't think he is going to take much playing time from either Key, Glenn or Crayton. However, I do think Sean Payton will try and have a formation with both Price and Glenn trying to stretch the field.

I think Price's main value to the team right now is as insurance in case Glenn or Crayton gets hurt...

it can't hurt.....even if he doesn't play much, washington is gonna have to prepare for him which takes away from focusing on Julius and Jason.

Weapons - it's really a nightmare to prepare for our weapons.

This is the same type discussion that occurred when we drafted Spears and signed Fergy. I find it hard to believe you pay a guy 1.8mil to be a backup. I would like to see the same type of rotation as our DL 20 plays to each player. There is nothing wrong with keeping these guys fresh it will minimize injuries.

how much of a effect will Price be suited up and ready to play?
It depends on how up to speed he is or whether we game plan him as a decoy.

It is not quantifiable yet to say how effective he will be. I am sure that most of us hope he is effective.

i think price will definately play monday night....i would love to see the receivers have a rotation just like the D-line has. we have the weapons why not use them? i think if any position needs a rotation it would be the receivers. you'd think it can only help them after running around all night,,

Agreed. As long as he shows he is ready and can contribute, get him in the rotation.

I'd have to agree with you. It doesn't make any sense to pay that sort of money and not get him on the field.

When you look back and realize he's replacing Morgan essentially as a 4th WR but at triple the cap charge..that would seem to indicate that He's at least a # 3 WR in the pecking order and because of his weapons, would split time with Crayton at times or come in to give Key a breather or to be used when field position would allow us to send him deep.

Once you get in the RED ZONE, Key would be more valuable a target to get it in the endzone.

But given his history with Bledsoe..anything may happen. Like you, I'd be very happy if Price has an impact catching 3-4 passes a game and then they move him around from Flanker to Split end to slot man like they try to do with Ware on defense and make teams spend extra time trying to defense him and account for him.

If Price can come up with a few big catches early in the season, it could make it very interesting. And when they send 3-wides out there, there will have to be enormous pressure on the defense to cover and that leaves us with the advantage running the ball with JuJo out of that formation.

If we can spread the defense, we can dominate the line of scrimmage. If they ignore the 3-wides, we'll kill them throwing with Bledsoe. I'm hoping Sean Payton will call some of these formations early in games and on early downs to shakeup the defense and confuse things for the opposition.

I'm not saying Crayton couldn't be effective in the 3-wides, but Price has a track record with Bledsoe and around the league and he'd cause a bigger ripple in the defense than Crayton at this point.

But that remains to be seen.

And like with Morgan, I'm just hoping that Price or the other WR's stay healthy and we aren't forced to insert him before he's ready or he gets an injury himself like Morgan did early and be on the shelf.

Then his acquisition gets voided.

So we'll see.

If he's on the field, he's a threat. As disappointing as he may have been in ATL for whatever reasons, it doesn't matter. Opposing defensive coords. still have to account for this guy, especially when he's the 3rd or 4th WR on the field with Witten at TE and JJ at RB.

I would not be suprised to see Price have a big game, I don't think it will take him long to get the playbook down being a vet player as he is. Price just as Bledsoe has something to prove and I think he will do a great job in Dallas
