Penalties resulted in a possible 27 point swing

3 NE drives were kept alive by Dallas penalties on 3rd down. They scored 17 points on those drives, and only on one were they in scoring range at the time. Dallas was stalled by a penalty in the red zone that forced them to settle for a FG and had a 4th down conversion in NE territoty negated by a penalty. That's a potential 27 point difference on penalties alone

There's your ballgame right there. You can't beat anyone doing that, you just can't. Granted, a number of those penalties were questionable (at best).

It could have been worse. I noticed at least two false starts on us that weren't called. We seriously could have been a lot worse off too.

Agreed. I sound like a broken record tonight basically saying this exact same thing in all my posts, but it just gets me so irritated to know that we played a very solid game, except for shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties.

I said it before, if we were healthy and didnt commit so many damn penalties, we win this game. As I said to my buddy during the game, they brought their "A" game, we brought our "B-" game. Ballgame.

But Dallas was supposed to lose this game according to HH just like we had no prayer against Chicago, so why bother making excuses for what was supposed to happen.

Oh wait, we could've won unlike the naysayers such as yourself predicted and we did beat Chicago.

We were supposed to lose this game, and we did. NE got away with a lot, but they executed without flaw and we did not. We arent on their level and they proved it.

And I never said we had no prayer against anybody, I said I doubted we would beat Chicago based on our recent history of big road games. Stop being so bitter.

You know what? I also believe that the pass interference call against Patrick Watkins was bull crap, he was standing still, and RM ran into him.

The referees really needs to be investigated because the leauge officiating is getting out of hand. I believe that most of these referees is making bets of their own. Take the one from the NBA for example... That's one of the reason why these referees in these sports such as NFL, NBA, etc should be investigated because there are things happening in front of their face, they act like they aren't aware of.

Not bitter, I just think you're an inconsistent tool. First to jump ship and start rowing away and then from a safe distance you yell from your megaphone retro-active critique or praise.

The bolded part is what I have a problem with. Complain about the refs? Fine. Yes, there were some bad calls, but to say the refs are the REASON we lost? That's hogwash. We played HORRIBLY on defense. HORRIBLY. We couldn't catch a cold on 3rd down. Inept. Totally. Embarrassing. Then to say it's because of the refs that we lost? Sorry, but no cigar.

Everybody please quit whining about officating. It is what it is. Most of the calls made were legit. On Barbar's run in the endzone did anybody see what Flozell did to his guy? He picked him up and body slammed him. The ref didnt call it. The TO one where he was pushed out of bounds was a bad call. The rest were legit from what I could remember. In closing, quit whining and lets have our team be more discplined. Cry about that.

You were holding your breath and putting on waterwings at 2-0. So apparently you do.

Sorry, not buying it.

We were up 24-21 when the refs "gave Moss a phantom PI" and basically put 7 on the board for them.

On every one of our drives after that it was penalty after penalty. Witten and TO were not moving at the same time either, that wiped out a play that would have put Dallas at about the 30 if I remember correctly.

Officiating took points off for Dallas and gave points to the Pats. If you do want to see it, fine. But dont tell the rest of us that what we saw didnt happen or had no affect on the outcome of the game.

I hate the fact that the refs had such a huge impact in the outcome of this game. I dont mind losing to the pats, but the final score did not show the game and the pats were helped out ALOT by the refs.

Yea, but its every week in here. Every week were getting screwed by the refs. If its happening every week then it must not be the refs and we must look at ourselves in the mirror. Discipline fellows. Start blaming the coaches, take your frustration out there.

No question about it. We've got to work on our penalties. Even taking away the questionable calls, we are still way too penalized. There were two false starts that weren't even called on us. I mean, there is no excuse for the amount of penalties we get just on the offensive line. No excuse at all.

Honestly-that game was somewhat of a measuring stick for us-a hyped playoff game atmosphere-like, but instead of coming out business-like, we came out a bit too uptight(when, in fact, it was nothing more than a typical reg season non-conference game).

Hopefully-the Boys can learn from this.

I was talking about penalties that we need to work on. Those are two false starts that were missed by the refs which would have made it even worse. Our offensive line is a penalty machine. Jump off the hatred of the refs issue and see that we DO have issues with penalties and most of it stems from the o-line for VALID calls.
