Penalties

Were the penalties in that playoff game fabricated or did you see the same thing the refs saw?

Do you think refs doing that game, against the most penalized team in the NFL, aren't going to be on alert?

The Cowboys aren't just an undisciplined team, they are an unable to disciple team. For the owner to openly complain about the penalties is a real laugher.

I think personally that there are penalties that can be called on every single snap in the NFL, if you should choose to do so. It’s just at the discretion of the officials. I don’t think Dallas was necessarily unfairly penalized, because opponents were called for a league leading number of penalties against Dallas. I just think the games were officiated much more tightly then the league average. I wish they would stop calling half assed holding calls and PI for all games, not just Cowboys games. They did in the rest of the playoffs and the games were of a far higher quality for it. Above all though, they need consistency in their directives across all games and teams in the league.

We need a mojo penalty count. You know, as big Mike says - those game changing moments.

I agree, frankly I would rather see a missed call happen by the ref than over officiated games where we see flag constantly through out the game. This past weekend, I saw several plays that could have been called but no flag, even several where flags where thrown then picked up with no call being made. Unless it was pretty blatant they seem to let a lot of tick tack calls go.

Exactly. I think dangerous play and cynical violations that are very blatant should of course be called but by and large they should let them play.

Or a combination of the refs letting them play. False starts/Offsides - sure they weren't great, but they didn't call holding, let multiple delay of games go by, no ticky tack PI or defensive holding calls.

Several times the play clock had ran out, ..seems like more Rams than Niners.
Even Aikman and Joe Buck were pointing out the play clock mystery several times, and saying refs were being " lenient " ...

The instant the play clock hits 0 is not an automatic delay of game because of the mechanics they use. It has an extra second built into it. There was 1 for LA yesterday that seemed late enough to flag but the others were within this extra margin that's been known for years.

And a lot of them were drive killers. Taking big plays away by holding calls or putting us in 3rd and 12 all the time..

I recall Pollard having a huge run in a loss that was called back.

Elliot having his longest run of the year called back with a hold.

A huge pass from Dak to Gallup called back. Dak throw across his body and across the field to wide open Gallup. Called back.

These were all big plays that happens in losses. Losses that was only by a few points and those penalties basically took points off the board. They need to be cleaned up and to me that starts with coaching., Get us another O-Line coach..

In those four games, there were a few egregious no-calls. I will not say that Dallas would have been penalized, but those teams were allowed to play old school football.

Makes you wonder if they are watching us that close or are we so undisciplined that the penalties are obvious.. That’s on coaching to me..
