when rodgers hit his OL in the back with the pass......why did they call ineligible man downfield, instead of illegal touching.....

isnt illegal touching a 10 yd penalty and a loss of down?

I was thinking the same thing Biggems...........

yeah I thought it was the wrong call

like I said in another thread, I thought this crew really did poorly for both sides tonight

The NFL did away w/the illegal touch by an OL 1 or 2 years ago.

They need either Ed Hochule or that Black Ref who gives a completely thorough explanation of the NFL Rule Book with each call to do these prime time games.

The call I have a question about is the on-sides kick when they touched the ball before 10 yards. How come we don't get the ball at the point of the illegal touch?

Letting them simply re-kick lets the kicking team off the hook and reduces a lot of risk in trying a surprise on-sides.

I don't think that is correct.. I have seen it called this season.. a OL that is not announced as an eligible receiver can not be the first person to touch a forward pass. If that was not the rule.. here would be no reason to declare an OL as eligible..

IMO.

There is no longer a penalty if the illegal touching is not intentional.

Well I'm paraphrasing Brad Sham..... I guess he could have made a mistake.

Not sure why, but this made me laugh pretty hard.
