Penei Sewell

I’d prefer not to draft a OL, but given how the defense has played the last 2 weeks it’s much more palatable given Tyrons health.

I'm hearing his best position might be inside at guard if that is the case no way in hell I'm using a top 5.

Now that we have a top 3 overall pick...

Anyone else really want him to be our pick?

Pay Dak, protect Dak + open up holes for Zeke in '21
He would be a great addition if everything falls in place. He is a top 5 contender in my books. Perfect idea. Draft him and play him at LG if Tyron can come back; then transition him to LT, when Tyron, is done. That may be sooner than you think! I have serious concerns for Days recovery and what comes out of the Jones’s mouths. They are total BS salesmen! So start looking at the QB’s until otherwise.

He is going to be the best tackle in this draft and he is still learning at the age of 20. He will be a beast! QB will be rated higher. LB in the top 5 is to high for me. I like some of the CB’s and WR Chase but we are strong at the WR position and we can get another CB in the 2nd round. I love the trenches! I wish there was a DT rated as high as Sewell.

This^^^^but if we're at 3 it's not a reach to think whoever at 4 or 5 may want this kid bad enough offer 2022 1sr to move up 2 spots. The Dolphins for example may consider offering #7, 21 first (s), and 52 2nd to move from 7 to 3.
If the Dolphins offered that bounty I would take it. We could get a cornerback, safety, defensive tackle, and offensive tackle/guard in the first 52 picks of the draft.

Austin Jackson has performed pretty well from what I've seen (very little TBH), Sewell would come in and play RT which is Tua's blindside so it might be a perfect scenario.

Would give them two very young OT's to be your franchise OT's to protect what is hopefully your franchise QB.

If Tua is what they expect him to be, then giving up all those picks to protect is not a huge cost in the grand scheme of things considering all 3 of those guys could be franchise players for 10 + years.

I know it’s early but it appears to be very few blue chip players in this draft. It appears to be three Lawrence, Chase, and Sewell. I don’t know if I trade out of drafting Sewell for a bunch of red chips. Sewell gives us the number 1 offense line in football. I remember what that did for us from 2014-2017. You need to give me lots of ammo for me to come off of this monster.

This is the way I see it but I'd add Parsons to your list...if Sewell is available you take him. He's one of the few blue chip players in the draft at a high cost position and you can plug him in as a day 1 starter to get our OL back to being elite. He's also the long term answer as LT as he's arguably the best OT prospect to come out in the past decade.

If he's not there I'm taking Parsons or looking to trade back. From a financial standpoint I understand LBr isn't ideal that early but he's one of the best players in the draft and I'm not sacrificing talent for position if we can't move.

If we had two good defensive tackles, I would run to the podium with Parsons card. The issue is we don’t. You have to keep your linebackers free. Our Defensive tackles have to improve, maybe we could sign one in free agency and draft one in the second round. The problem with Jaylon is he does not make any big plays. Parsons would.

Parsons or Surtain II.

I would add Fields in there as well, but the ammo we get back needs to be worth passing up a Sewell, if not you make the pick. Miami has a lot of ammo.

This move would make a lot of sense. Tyron hasn't played a full season in half a decade, and you net about $5 million in cap space by trading him. You can't have part-time players taking up that much of your salary cap. It's one of the things that directly contributes to losing every year.

LBs spend 2/3rds of their time covering with nary a blocker on them.

It's like Vander Esch in 2018... the man made plenty of stops against the run, but what set him apart and made him special was the plays he made 1 on 1 in open space. Parsons doesn't really get showcased in coverage at PSU, but he obviously knows how to read offenses and he is a scary elite athlete. So there's every reason to think he'll be able to make an LVE type impact in the pros, regardless of the DT play in front of him.

VanJaylon was outstanding in 2018 because the defensive linemen in front of them was good. Remember back then we had David Irving as part of the rotation and the Hot Boyz were not half bad. I have to admit the the team had issues with zone blocking schemes and never adjusted.

If we pick 3, that would be the easiest trade down ever. There's a bunch of teams with young QBs looking for a left tackle.

My goal is get ransom for our pick and trade down for Farley.

If we can’t get ransom, take Sewell wherever we are in the top 5
