Cool! Got comparative stats on personality, brains, work ethic, etc.?

Got any negatives on him in those areas?

I think Northwestern is a pretty decent little school academically, not sure.

Started 2 years at RT and 2 at LT.

I didn’t realize his dad was Reggie Slater who used to play in the NBA.

He’s from Sugar Land, Texas....perfect.

I've been saying for weeks he is the Zach Martin Clone, but all I hear is his arms are too short.

They measure armlength armpit to finger tip? I would prefer armpit to the base of the fingers you are not going to be pass protecting with the tips of your fingers.

Exactly who I'd pick if I just gave out $125 million in guarantees to a guy whose edge protection are both coming off major surgeries.

Unless coach Philbin, along with the likes of Steele, Knight or Neske(sp?) are your idea of long term answers and not just spot starters.

All depends on the FO's risk/reward assessment of the CB and TE payoff as compared to an OT choice and full confidence in incumbent OT starters not getting hurt again.

As last year showed again. Football is still won and lost in the trenches.

I mean Chaz Green wasn't so long ago that I've forgotten.

I agree! Too bad we need defense so bad, plus, since Jerry just invested so much in Dak, it wouldn’t surprise me if he pushed for Pitts at 10.

We used to have a great/dominant OL. Right now we have a good one at best and that’s only if they are all healthy. Time to get dominant again. Face the facts.....our first round OL turn out like Tyron, Martin and Freddo....or 2nd or 3rd round OL look like Connor and Connor.

that's the knock on slater....his arms are shorter and he may struggle in the NFL at tackle...he has good technique, but your physical limitations are easily masked in college...I don't think we need to draft a potential guard at the 10th spot. I think slater will drop in the first round as teams will shy away and go after skilled positions....

That’s great, but we have more immediate needs. Not being facetious.

I’d like that elite line too. But we have more urgent needs. We may not have the personnel for the top 2 or 3 OL anymore, due to age and injury, but if healthy, we can still be top ten.

I’d be thrilled with Slater at 10, followed by a mostly defensive draft. I’d also be happy with Pitts at 10 with the rest Defense, or Surtain and then an OT, DT, LB,S...

1) Slater OT/OG
2) Basham DE
3a) Adebo CB
3b) Cisco FS
4a) LB
4b) DT

Problem solved.

And like Martin, there's a good chance he's an OG in the NFL. Do you want to use a Top 10 pick on an OG?

Ask yourself why only the Cowboys would need to throw so many high picks and money to get a good OL when other teams do it with far less resources?

I would take him if Surtain is gone by the time we pick.
