1. LB was a need last year. This year we signed 3 vets for depth + have Lee, McClain and Hitchens.

2. The Cowboys don't have nearly the draft history in the middle rounds to suddenly say fans can't question their picks. Yes, Hitchens was good last year, but sorry 1 pick doesn't change that they've had a whole bunch of bad picks before him.

I'm on board with rounds 1,2 and 5. 3 and 4 I'm scratching my head over.

Wilcox the year before was a great pick

Ah, the Chicken Little thing comes out.

You guys are on top of your game today.

I don't see where saying the team is making draft mistakes is saying the sky is falling.

I still think there is enough residual talent to get .500 again. But I do not see anything that suggests we will be more than 12-4.

We peaked, with a lot of luck last year. And we failed to take a golden opportunity to build on that.

Everyone said same thing last year. I prefer to wait and see before calling it a season. Lol

I guess i just dont understand the philosophy of not drafting a rb with our current stable.

I agree, I'm just dumbfounded. I'm actually looking forward to laughing at all the people that say RB is not a need for this team when this mess of a backfield is exposed and Mcfeeble is on the DL.

What would you have done differently to build on last year's magical season, Mr GM?

Hitchens saved the 2014 season!

He started 11 games and played at all 3 LB spots. He started games over Bruce Carter. Without Hitchens they would have been playing Cam Lawrence and would likely have missed the playoffs.

People moaned and groaned about the Hitchens pick in 2014.

Now the Cowboys draft some guys higher than the draft media had them ranked and the same people are throwing a fit about it.

The naysayers were wrong last year and they didn't learn from their mistake(s) and are now repeating the same rhetoric this year.

"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
-Edmund Burke

Recent history tells me that having a bellcow RB and actually giving him the ball consistently is the difference between this team being 8-8 and 12-4. Who are the ones not learning from history again?

So, what are you saying?

Damien Wilson will save 2015?

What player besides him? The underachiever from Purdue? The backup swing tackle from Florida?

Enquiring minds want to know.

The way I see it, unless Jones and Gregory are monsters, we are a worse team than 2014 and we wasted the remainder of the draft on special teams players and cross-your-fingers players you hope show something now that they did not do as a collegiate.

We completely overhauled the defense at all three levels.

But since we didn't draft a mid round RB or a DT that every other team is passing on, this team got worse.

Oh Alex.

They also said the same thing after the special teams draft coined by Jerry. Does one make this right over another?

The defense should be better.

However many games he plays.... He is a lot better than anyone we had on the line last year. Gregory has question marks on and off the field, but I fail to see how he won't provide more of a pass rush than Selvie or Spencer.

We have better LBer depth. Lee returns (for however many games). We added a versatile player to the secondary.

Defensively, we are more talented and deeper.

Obviously, the big question is with the running game.

I'd also like to add a returner.

Doesn't make either right. But crying about picking guys you have never seen play and only read a small blurb after they were taken to form your opinion is ridiculous. I mean it's hilarious but ridiculous

Wilcox has been nothing more than a fringe nfl starter so far .Let's not call him a great pick yet...

He just finished his second season and made some plays. Didn't say he was the greatest player I said he was a great pick. Do you know the difference?

Well I certainly hope that LB Cowboys drafted is good, because I expect both McClain and Lee will miss significant time.

Wish I could bet on that in Vegas, its a certainty

Going into the offseason we had to address this team's weakness, which was the pass rush. We added two monsters in Hardy and Gregory, on top of Lawrence who came out huge in the playoffs.

As far as LB position goes we have RoMC who is on a one year lease and Lee with durability issues. Aside from those two there is only one LB who can contribute as a starter in Hitchens. I don't mind the pick at all and we can add more to our LB corps.

Overall, we've improved defensively. How can a team who added Hardy and Gregory not be an improvement?

And King Whiner speaks.

I see nothing but emotional narratives vomited from our usual suspect.

He is saying you complained about Frederick, Hitchens, and every other pick that wasn't a sure thing and that you guys don't learn very well. Assume the worst and sow discontent is the Alex way.

I don't get why you seem so bent out of shape about this or seem shocked.

You have to understand that's how people behave on the internet and in life in general.

Then when the player does good they pretend to be there since day 1. Or act as if they were never trashing that player

I like the 4th rounder.

It's the third rounder that bothers me. Swing tackle who is injury prone. To backup the starting tackle who is injury prone.

Then again, this is the team that used three second round picks to draft backup tight ends
