It just happens to Owens more than anyone else in the entire league.
It's 12 drops, btw, not 11.

His drops ARE part of the game. They've haven't bothered me much at all. Not like his poor route running, "not being into it" as he admitted/bragged on tv last week, and alligator arms have.
The drops are one of his positives compared to the rest of the equation.
LatinMind;1228140 said:just now they said Tory holt had 7 drops on the season, and 4 tonight, so thats 11 for the season for him. think about this before u start complaining about TO just to have a reason to complain about him
WV Cowboy;1228538 said:I rest my case !!
We have played in 13 games and everyone keeps talking about 2, ... 2, ... TWO, passes, ... that is hilarious to me and obviously agenda driven. TWO dropped passes !?!?!
The one against the skins happened in the 3rd qtr, so even though most of us feel it would have won the game, nobody knows that for sure since we all painfully remember just last season when the skins scored twice on us in the last minutes of the 4th qtr.
And the one in the Giants game was on about the 35 yd line or so. There is no guarantee that we would have even scored a FG from there had he caught it.
If you want people to hear you go on and on about Owens and his "drop" issue, then call out every player that gets a penalty, or misses a block, or misses a tackle, or blows an assignment, or throws a bad pass, or makes a bad read, or others that drop a pass.
IF you do that, then your opinion means more and it doesn't just look like you are picking on a player that you didn't want here in the first place.
Doomsday101;1228551 said:Those were only 2 examples but he has killed drives with drops as well some have not cost us in the end. I would also add that our other weapons do the job without all the BS that TO brings like the dumd ars interview during crunch time of our season like any team really needs some idiot talking about not trusting or being unhappy. Please continue to defend Mr Over rated
WV Cowboy;1228574 said:I never defended the interview, some things I agreed with and others I didn't.
But I don't think it mattered a hill of beans to the team.
I was referring to drops, which was the title of this thread.
You are verifying everything that I said earlier, ... let's say he has 8 legit drops, and 4 actually killed drives. (I don't know that for sure)
4 drives in 13 games ??
Why are we even talking about that ?
Doomsday101;1228583 said:I don't agree with your assesment the drops he has are legit you may not want to count them but I have watched the game and this ideal that because you feel the drops were not really drops does not change anything. Bottom line I expect playmakers to make big plays and TO does not do that. In critical situation Dallas has gone to Witten and Glenn for those big plays. At least they can be counted on to do the job which is more than I can say about Mr. Over rated
WV Cowboy;1228594 said:Ok, when the ball does not even touch the players hands, or if he has to jump as high as he can to even touch the ball, you continue to call that a drop, .. that does support your opinion.
I will be objective and call a drop a drop, no matter who it is, and a bad pass a bad pass.
I will also give a guy a pass, no matter who it is, if he played two games with a broken bone in his hand.
Oh, and did Witten not drop a TD pass against the Saints ??
See ? It happens.
Doomsday101;1228605 said:That has not been the case, I have watched him pull up on slants and not reach out for the ball and I have seen him flat out drop a lot of passes this year. This coming for a guy who is suppose to be a top WR? sorry he is not playing like a top WR in this league and I can think of several others I would take over this over rated idiot that you continue to make excuses for and look the other way. As for Witten yes he did drop a pass that should have been caught and needs to make that catch.
LatinMind;1228325 said:how does 4 drops equal 60 percent? might want to take out your calculator. but my point was that everybody drops passes, tonight tori dropped what would have been 2 td's.
now add them 2 td's to the score? would u say tori cost them the game?
Thehoofbite;1228652 said:TOs has dropped ball consistantly all season.
WV Cowboy;1228721 said:
How can you say that ? Even if you say he has 12 drops, (which I don't buy) that is not even 1 a game.
When I read posts like this, all I see is, "I don't like TO", ... "I don't like TO"
Thehoofbite;1229099 said:I can say that cause I have watched the games.....
I really don't know how you can say that he hasn't.
I guess I just expected him to perform up to his contract and at least half as well as what he tells everyone he can. Can you honestly say that Owens hasn't dropped passes all year?
And I don't hate TO. I didn't want him to go to Dallas but I have been impressed with his behavior. Its better then I expected. In fact, I would love nothing more then for Owens to be able to hang on to the ball. That would be nice to see him to that....don't ya think?
I suppose you buy into the whole "my teammates make me unhappy so I drop balls" routine. :laugh2:
