I'm a pretty big proponent of continuity, and I think this sets the Skins back a couple years.

the funniest thing is that was a direct quote I pulled from Snyder's own pie-hole, he said in the Gibb's retirement presser that he was hoping to see continuity w/ the new hire

so much for that

If that was the case we wouldn't have brought in Zorn and promoted Blasche.

Jim Zorn = Little Danny's attempt at Jason Garrett.

If Jerry bought a pound of poo...Danny would buy two.

:ralph: on Extreme Skins. That place is a garbage heap!!!! And I'm being kind with that comparison. Actually, I'm being pretty harsh on garbage heaps, come to think of it.

Local news is reporting that Williams "badmouthed" Gibbs in one of the interviews. Uh oh.

Snyder and Cerrato came out and said those rumors were false. They backed Williams who said he would never badmouth Gibbs.

I just watched Cerrato (with one of the worst hair transplants I've ever seen) and he did no such thing. He spun and equivocated.

True. Of course, we don't have much room to talk.

I think it would serve Williams well to go to Jacksonville.....they have a nice young defense in the making....a defensive minded/aggressive head coach....and Williams aggressive style of defense would fit right in.

Most definitely, Williams can make the Jaguars D even more aggressive.

We need this guy to coach the secondary. I'm sure he would love to help destroy the Commanders twice a ear.

I think Gregg Williams is highly overrated... in the 4 years prior to coming to the Skins, their average defensive ranking at season's end was 11th; in the 4 years under him, their average ranking has been 13th... they have given up an average of right at 10 more yards per game over those 4 years than they had in the previous 4 years...

And over this time, most of the team's premium picks went for defensive help, the exception being Jason Campbell... we're talkin' Laron Landry, Rocky McIntosh, Carlos Rogers and Sean Taylor in the first two rounds the past four years...

So really, did Williams do a good job for the Skins?? Seems to me that his defenses might have actually regressed a little while he ran the show... and he is semi-legendary for being a card-carrying rick with a p, disliked by his fellow coaches...

Naw, I don't want him in Dallas...

Remember a few years back, when Washington won the off season coaching superbowl?

I remember the smugness of Commander fans about how Danny had gotten the drop on all other NFL teams by hiring all of these superstar assistants...

I remember hearing over and over again about how Danny had set the new trend on how to assemble a coaching staff...

I remember last off season when Commander fans laughed and guffawed at Jerry hiring an assistant coach before hiring a head coach...

Good times...

You should post that over at Extremeskins...

Were there rumors that we were interested in interviewing the Commanders' Secondary coach?

You're talkin' about Jerry Gray, ex-Longhorn great... and yes, there were rumors the Boys were interested in him... I have no idea as to the credibility of those rumors, but he is a pretty fair DBs coach...

Williams gone = Spagnuolo in as HC ?

Well, if the decision is to go with Fassel, there's no reason to wait to announce it... waiting until after the Super Bowl clearly suggests that either the Pats or the Giants have some coaches that the Skins are interested in interviewing for their head coaching job... Spagnuolo is the most likely of that bunch, IMO...

Why couldn't we have kept Saunders? I can understand letting Williams go because he was promised the HC job and had the buyout, but why the need to switch offensive systems yet again and go to a West Coast offense that someone like Campbell will have to start at step 1 learning again?

That's not gonna help Campbell's development... hell, Zorn may try to teach him to throw left-handed... LOL...
