I agree. He deserved the heat for his play over the last couple of years, he played poor and people called him out. However he came into camp and worked hard has looked good throughout camp, pre season and through the 1st 3 games. He needs to keep it up but I applaud his play. He did not break under the pressure he got up and did something about it.

He has done a very good job.

But I'm sure we'll get those folks who (in a whiney voice) say...

"Well Doug Free gets all sorts of help on the right hand side"

Which I say is boloney... I've watched Free pretty closely over the first 3 games and he isn't getting a lot of help.

About time Jerry starts talking to Free about an extension... :D

(Winicki ducks for cover...)

lol..... But it shows why they were not looking to get rid of Free when everyone and their brother was calling for his head. Cowboys did make him take the pay cut but they hung in there with him.

As has already been said, Doug Free has proven to be a real man. He didn't shut off in the face of criticism, he took the pay cut and has busted his *** to fix himself and his image.

I'm incredibly, incredibly impressed with that. Most people wouldn't react the way he has. He's really manned up.

I'm clapping for you, Doug Free.

Well, he has gotten some help, unlike Smith, who's been left pretty much all alone out there. But I don't think he's getting more help than is usual around the league.

Also, Free's turnaround started late last season. It's really good to see him carry that through to this year.

Valid point about Free's turnaround actually starting the end of last season.

Yes.

His turnaround happened when he was a part time player, and the coaching staff didn't deem him worthy of full time snaps.

Makes perfect sense.

He has been very good this year, though, and deserves a lot of credit for his improvement. It has frankly been staggering compared to the mess he was last year.

I agree to me it says alot about the man who over comes the heat he has taken and instead of giving up gets to work and does something about it. Would have been easy to just take the pay cut knowing your still making good money and just go through the motions.

Well he gets props from me because I wanted his *** gone ASAP after last year. And I do believe in redemption and honestly, all I want is for people to perform. And he's performing, so I'm in Camp Free for now.

Clearly this is a sign that their grading system is flawed to the point of being broken, or did I read it wrong? If he's the higest rated tackle named Free then it sounds about right.

Well ain't dat some ish.

I'm optimistic about this line if the run blocking continues to get better. It's nice to see an Achilles heel turn into a strength.
