That's because REAL men love the Rae Carruth's, Rafael Septien's and the Aaron Hernandez's of the world.... right?
I don't know, do they? I know for me, it's not about if I like someone or not. If society says a domestic violence offender is good to go to work at wall Mart, than he's good to go for me to play NFL foitball.

Conventional wisdom should tell me..”Well he’s cut now” but this is Dallas, and all bets are off the table.

You and I are different, I suppose. If I don't like an entertainer personally, I don't really care to watch them perform. A football player to me is no different than an actor or a musician. They have every right to try to make a living, but I also have the right not to spend my time and/or money watching them.

You are correct, and my guess is if you are true to What you say, you should NEVER watch pro sports, because every team...and i do mean every team has, players of questionable character on them.

Yeah some people are jealous types and hide their jealousy by playing the morality card. People mess and up and do things that are wrong but like you if they can work at low paying place they can work at high paying place too. I just wish people like @Silver Surfer were honest about their feelings of jealousy about a "bad" person most likely doing better than them financially and how it makes them feel.

I damn sure would rather have a player smoking a little bud over oxy to manage pain.

Well said. The reactions I’ve seen to this are ridiculous.

There’s no reason to cut a player just because he faces a potential suspension. If he gets suspended, he moves to the reserve/suspended list while he’s out. It’s not like he takes up a roster spot.

Assuming he doesn’t get suspended before week 1, I expect him to be active on game day and be used in the red zone.

Its not about comparison it is about most folks being hypocrites.
Yeah, one guy is a stud and a generational talent while the other is a borderline scrub. One helps win games, the other catches balls against 3rd stringers. One makes sense as a business decision, risk vs reward, the other doesn’t.

I personally don’t care who smokes weed but it’s obvious why the Steelers kept Bell, not so much for Rico even without the pot. Now they’re looking at losing ANOTHER player to drug suspension and he’s not even worth the roster spot without the suspension.

good reason to consider cutting would be if the team cannot rely on the play being available and losing an alternative player.
in rico's case, he brought a skill none of the other guys had.

Rico squeaked through, but the pot bust didn’t do him any favors. If he’s ever gonna get his head on straight, it’s gotta be now.

Up to you Rico...tighten up your s—t and prove you belong!
