Cowboys will be lucky to get 8 games this year out of Ratliff, who will be gone after this year....Jerry and his ridiculous 5 year contract extension with two years left on a deal for an aging and declining player..I would of cut him after the DWI charge six weeks after his team mate killed another member of the team...

The undying optimism says he could be back for the second half of the year and help with a playoff push but he sure is looking like the rest of the lotto winners that have played till they got paid.

this guy is like driving by a car accident

you want to keep driving by and ignore it because it prohibits your progress, but then you have to slow down to see if there is anything to look at, only to get aggravated when traffic isn't moving and there is nothing to see

Fredd is tired of Ratliff's "game"...time to take another route to get where we're going....

How many years ago was it when he was actually effective on the field? 4?

Yep. He's done. All those years of pretending he's a 3-4 NT have caught up with him. I'm sure he'll play again but never at the level he once did.

Interior pass rush is probably going to be an issue

Jay Ratliff is a combination of Greg Ellis' attitude and paranoia, T.O.'s hostile persona, and Matt Johnson's durability.

I was gonna say the same thing. We wasted all that time playing him out of position in a 3-4 but finally switch to a d he'd actually be good in and he doesn't want to play. Fantastic.

Add that to the fact that we decided not to draft even a 7th round DT and you end up with razor thin depth across the entire dline.

I just hope all the Ratliff supporters acknowledge their mistake in wanting him back.

His situation is beyond bad, it's toxic.

I'm expecting the team to grab a DT after final cuts as a band-aid.

LOL,,,,,everyone loved RAT in the offseason, even tho he got in a heated argument with the owner, hurt all last year and DUI in the off season. Wonder were the Cowboyszone homers are now.....but for the teams sake, I do hope he can play at least as a rotational player.... Watch out for Spencer, he is hurt got a BIG payday and might be looking foward to next year already.....$10Mil plus FA... wonder if he is making business decisions

If he will not be ready to go 100% week one, then I would love to see them be able to sign a decent DT that gets cut for salary reasons and turn around and cut this loser. He has become wasted space and the epitome of the rotten culture that has been holding a talented roster down. Getting rid of him would be the very definition of addition by subtraction.
