Just found this to be curious. I’ve read several mock drafts, 247 Sports being one of them, but I’ve noticed the wording differs. When it’s the Jets or Jags or other teams with worse or similar records, there’s very little judgement on the franchises as a whole, just things like “to beef up their secondary, so-and-so will draft...”. When they get to Dallas, it’s basically “Dallas has so many issues, and they’ll still be weak, no matter who they pick, but...”

Sure, we have issues, and we DO need lots of help, but it’s amusing to me how they overdramatize the issues in Big D, like the Cowboys are lower than perennial dumpster fires like the Jets or Jags. No biggie, just makes me eye roll and chuckle. You?

I don’t read a lot of national news on the Cowboys as it’s usually not from anyone I’d follow or feel they’d have more insight than our local beat writers but I haven’t seen or heard anyone who felt the Jets or Jags were in a better position to turn things around next season that we are.

As far as a Dumpster Fire , not much was expected of either of those teams this year so hard to disappoint much at 1-13 whereas on the other hand we are often over hyped with too high of expectations so whenever we flop it is more newsworthy.

And THAT my guy is why we ARE America's team. Less to do with winning and more so just the star itself. Folks either Love or Love to hate us

It’s click bait and gets the attention of people. Everybody likes to kick them when they are down.

Your last seven words! Bingo!

Yea, I’d give anything if we were just only Texas team. I hate the national spotlight. The over hype of the Cowboys sets us up for disappointment.

On the East Coast, we don’t get much of the Dallas beat writers. It’s ALL national, and most are overblown propaganda mavens playing the rating$ game.

No matter how horrific the Cowboys are, they will always be America's team due to those early 5 championships. That said, it makes Dallas a huge media magnet & always will.

We know there are as many cowboy haters as lovers so that is not surprising they would print these things. But the fact is until we stop under performing we will always hear more negative then positive, we don't even meet our own expectations anymore.
The media job is to sensationalize issues and that is not only in sport.
if they only report the truth and facts 3/4 of them will be out of jobs

Heal up, solid draft with defensive focus and actually signing good tier two fas and this team is very competitive next year.

pretty simple formula....our biggest issue is always bargin shopping for fas.....we have to do better there and keep drafting well

You could have access to it though online. That’s where I get most of it locally. You can also listen in to our local radio shows and tv sports broadcasters. All online. It takes effort .

We have a target on our backs for being "America's Team" + SAS is a jerkwad that kind of keeps this going too.

With only Dak healthy we most likely win division this year. We will be relevant again next year without this onslaught of injuries while adding a couple pieces in the draft like this year.

9 to 10 wins is an easy prediction next year . But we aren’t upper tier in the conference. But the separation isn’t that far as we saw in our early losses this year even after spotting those opponents 2-3 TD leads.

yeah dude I agree for sure...we probably get to 8-8 if dak didn’t go down.

I just want to see a complete offseason

Look who we lost to at 1-3. All playoff teams . And after spotting them a couple TD’s with turnovers. We are definitely at least an 8-8 team.

That’s the #1 area of improvement that must be made. Turnover differential. If we are near the bottom of the league , it’s losing football. And stop all of the dumb coaching decisions on 4th down.

We must also remember that much of the hype comes from our dysfunctional ownership. The media feeds off of it. We create much of the problem ourselves cause are always overselling and overhyping their product. No one else does it as such.

I hadn't really notice this trend, generally, any more than usual considering the high profile. It did jump put in the 49ers game. You would have thought SF had to call in the Stanford varsity to wear its uniforms and Dallas was relatively healthy for a late-season game.

The 49ers have been slaughtered by injuries. The Cowboys have been as well. Both teams' records reflect the carnage.
