Was our O better strictly because they were hurt and forced to play zone because of it?

Man, I do not know. I do know that we didn't run every 1st down, and we didn't pass every 1st down. But, I also saw at least one situation where the receivers ran straight to the DB's and stopped.

Did we just get lucky? Did we finally wake up?

I am bamfoozled.

There is room for improvement. Dallas could have beat the Eagles a lot worse and clearly outplayed the opposing team in every phase of the ball. Let's not get stupid and whine about a victory.

Good for Dak, Good for Garrett, let's stay aggressive with the play call and those big plays will happen. There is an opportunity to put the hammer down.

Garrett and Linehan were coaching for their jobs. Play calling was night and day different. I think I remember 3 times we ran on 1st down. We are the most predictable offensive team in the league.... except for last night. Look what it did for Zeke.... when the D doesn't know whats coming, he goes off for 150 yards.

We are an up and down team. We are mediocre. That's what we do. Have to consistently play like this week after week before I'll believe anything has changed.
Completely and wholeheartedly agree!!!

However, that doesn't answer the question. Why was the playcalling better?

Nice.

So, did knowing their jobs might be on the line force them to improve the playcalling? Man, that is screwy.

I don't think it had anything to do with luck. I think it showed character on the part of guys like Dak and some of our defensive leaders. Proved how good, risk taking play calling and coaching can make a big difference. Imagine if we have a HC and OC that thought like this day in and day out?

There was some good things coaches can point too and maybe build on going forward

But there was equally some bad things coaches can also point too in meetings to show that we are really close to being special if we want to (Dak im looking at you big dawg)

Don't know if it was the play calling or that the O-line played a lot better... Kudos to 76...

Way too many times this year Looney and Williams were giving up to much ground in the passing game - nowhere for Dak to step up.

So they called crapp plays until their jobs were on the line, then suddenly called better plays?

I'm truly trying to comprehend this.

Dear bamfoozled, the answers to your questions are not readily available. More time is needed to ascertain if that was a full turn and just a look in on the season.

We'd all like to believe that the combination of the Lincoln Riley rumor and the open criticism of the offensive coaching staff, including the HC, and the silence of Booger and lack of support we've seen in the past was the catalyst for real change and not just a tease.

We'd like to believe that Zeke's call for the run game and "must win" status of that game was heeded by the team.

We'd like to believe that was the Cowboys offense and not a depleted Eagles defense and that this team can go north of 27 from here on out.

I am going to try and stay on the positive side until I see more and getting some badly needed payback in ATL is the springboard for that. We've been conditioned to this alternate win nonsense so long that most are reluctant to buy into a "they finally get it" situation. Until the same team shows up in successive games, that's all we've got.

I don’t think we got lucky, the Eagles just aren’t all that and had several injuries so we benefited. We’re not a bad team but we’re not that great either.

I think they went all out. Went out of character calling a game they normally wouldn't with total abandon. Up tempo, deep throws, throwing on first down, ect...ect……

I think so. I think, as Collinsworth said, it was a what have we got to lose mentality. What made it easier on them was that Zeke and the OL played like it was must win and Martin coming back in was huge for the confidence of that OL and play calling. The play caller fed off the execution of the players.

We are a bad team that played good enough.

Injuries didn't stop Eagles from winning Super Bowl last year, so that excuse makes no sense to me at al
l. IMO this offense is feeling the Cooper effect, especially w/o the ball but it's just getting started.

There were plenty of stupid things they did. In the first half they tried to get Noah Brown back in there doing things and he just kept messing up so they finally scrapped it.
