I'm not calling names by saying an argument is based in emotions and not reasons. You want to sway my opinion, make a better argument.

As to my motivations, I don't think there's anything deeply Freudian going on there. I like how JG has assembled and leads the team. I like how he works with the Jonses. I like how he handles the press in Dallas. And I value stability in the long run. I don't think the guy can't coach just because a couple dozen people on the internet like to second guess play calling and say our team doesn't make enough adjustments.

You listed the positives of Garrett as assembling the team, leading the team, he works well with ownership, he handles the press well, and he provides stability.

I see you didn't mention results?

You say "make a better argument", well cant a better argument be made that the results are just not there? How many current NFL head coaches only won more than 8 games just one time in their first 6 years on the job? Other than maybe Marvin Lewis with the Bengals, I cant think of any myself where a head coach has had very limited success his first 6 years and was retained.

So you don't think the people that point to a lack of results (usually the gold standard to judge a coach in professional sports) can look at the results and intelligently and rationally come to the conclusion that Garrett has not done a satisfactory job? And this is not about one season being derailed by injuries, this is looking at a 6 year body of work by a professional head coach.
