They took a hammer and smashed the lobster tank. Of course the lobsters all died.

Tony said they ate until they were nearly sick.

Lobsters can survive for hours (at the minimum) out of water. Days if they are hardshell. Was your friend in the middle of the desert or some other place where they couldn't just put all the lobsters back in water?
