Exactly, he did have 28 tds and 19 ints 2012 but he neglects to say he had 31 tds and 10 ints in 2011 and 26 and 9 two years before that.

Yup,,, it irks me a little when these mediots smooth over their previous BS narratives. Romo isn't "just now" changing the narrative, they are. He's been putting together these winning scoring drives his whole career and his stats prove it. Sure, he has improved over the years just as this team has improved, but this choke thing was an overblown media narrative. It's no coincidence that when the team FINALLY fixed the OL that this team began closing out games and winning against stronger competition. Now they need to get this defense up to playoff caliber...

Burger King got close this time but still managed to screw it up somewhat. But I do have to agree that I think Tony changed some after 2012= I think he really finally got it that he did not have to always be the one that had to make a play because no one else would. And that meant he was willing to either take a sack or throw it away which to be honest was something he really did not do enough up through about 2011.

That also explains a lot of his low throws that some gomers here were trying to claim showed his arm was going.

Peyton Manning has used all of the play clock at the line waiting for defenses to tip off their plan. He's done it for years. I'd categorize those systems in Indy and Denver as successful.

I dont watch to many Indy, Broncos games, but I dont recall him letting the playclock get to zero on a routine basis. Not like Romo used to , in 2012-13, and the first half of week 1s game.

And despite popular belief. We werent in hurry up mode the entire second half, and Romo wasnt doing that anymore.

Well see if he does it moving forward.....................at all; for any reason.

And isnt it to be expected that a QB gets better every year. Isnt that the way it goes?

Do they point all these early career boo-boos for Manning? Brady(did he have any?), Brees, and others???

Of course he is getting better Peter. duh.

It's a good explanation of why Romo holds the ball until the last seconds on the play clock. Not that most of us needed an explanation of that.

Last 2 drives were 2 TDs

Drive #1 - 6 plays - snapped the ball with 13,20, 14, 14, 13, 8 on the play clock
Drive #2 - 6 plays - snapped the ball with 4, 28, 28, 30, 2, 13 on the play clock

11/12 only incompletion was the Beasley route snapped with :02. its a Dallas thing to run down the clock, I dont see it as any advantage as the tend move as welll if not better in the hurry up

And our own offense last year certainly didn't suck.

I've been saying it for years! Romos biggest problem was his confidence, look back at his performances where he came up short...he looked intimidated by the pressure. Now a days he's calm and collect..he's matured before our eyes big time.

I was one of Romo's biggest critics from 2007 until 2 years ago. I didn't like his cavalier attitude when it came to how he just the the ball into double, and sometimes triple, coverage. Granted, he didn't have the O-Line then that he has now, but if anything that should have made him be MORE careful with the football. I wish Romo had matured a little sooner than his mid-30s, but I am LOVING what I am seeing now. I wasn't worried one bit about him throwing a INT in the last drive, not one bit. I knew he would get us downfield in a position to score. I am not afraid to eat crow and say that Romo is proving everyone of his critics wrong, even me.

You're asking a lot from an UDFA. The only thing he's done is kept us in contention every year he's been on the field and become one of the top QBs in Cowboys history. That's all.

When you are pretty much the focal point of the offense, you have a sieve of an OL in front of you, and a defense that couldn't stop a grandma with a stroller at times, and realize that you need to score 40 because well your defense is giving up 39 of course you are going to make risky decisions. Look at Elway, Marino, all the greats that couldn't get over the huimp for most of their careers they were the only constants on their teams. All those 8-8 teams without tony would be 4-12 teams.

...and don't forget the loss of Pacells. I would bet my first born we would have a SB if he was still around.

That was a good read. Though, I still get agitated when people act like Romo was just a disaster waiting to happen prior to a couple years ago and once again, that narrative is put out there when it was never true.

I couldn't even get past the first sentence without getting aggravated. Romo is changing the narrative?? No, it's these brain-dead morons in the media that have decided to pull their heads out of their ***** and recognize Romo for what he is...and has always been. Romo has always been one of the most clutch players out there. Always. Heck, even when he bobbled the K ball snap against Seattle, did he curl up and cry? Hell no, he stepped up in a crazy situation and PERFORMED. He headed straight to the goal line and would have made it except for a great play by the defensive back.

No, he's changing the narrative. The first 20 or so come from behind wins were just luck.

I know, it's insane. All one has to do is look at this single fact...

Since 2006, Romo has a higher passer rating than any other NFL quarterback in the 4th quarter.

So I guess he's been changing the narrative for the last ten years. I just want to shake these people to wake them the F up.

Look no further than Drew Brees last year and the first game of this year. He's pretty much where Romo was for years, no help and trying to do too much. I don't think Drew Brees suddenly forgot how to play QB, and he still seems to throw the ball just as well as ever. He's just trying to make things happen because he knows that if he doesn't, nobody will.

Brees is the new Romo, Romo is the new Brees.

Romo has made some inexcusable throws in his day.

He's clearly always had the talent but he's always clearly had the random deer in the headlights plays as well.

The thing about him though is he puts it behind him and learns from his mistakes and just tries to improve.

Romo was never the problem. Yeh he had some big game gaffes but had he been with a more experienced HC/OC he would have had more playoff success. He was good enough to win the big one earlier in his career. He had to carry JG until JG learned how to be a OC/HC in the NFL.

For example, if Norv was his OC and Jimmy was his HC in 2007 and on , he would be known as one of the top 3 QBs and not this choker nonsense.
