'Boys backlash

Folks were ready to put them in the SB, but a couple of difficult outings against the Bills, Pats, and Vikes are now having people putting away the anointing oil.

I actually read an ESPN blurb about the Giants being the most complete team in the NFC. I think it's a good thing for the 'boys to go back underground.

He's got a point, I'm a Cowboys fan and they underwhelmed ME against the Vikings, so I can't blame anyone for saying the same. However, if the Jaguars and Cowboys met on a neutral field this Sunday, I'd take the Cowboys. I just don't see how they're better than us. I also think we could handle the Chargers, although our line play against Minn made me a little nervous... should be interesting to see how they do against the Giants front seven, they've got more legitimate pass rushers than they know what to do with.

I agree, .. nothing like leading the division and the conference, and yet still be considered the underdog.

we will regroup........

I could care less.

Packers beat the Chargers straight up. So king is an idiot for that first off.

If he wants to say the Jags are better im cool with that. But the Chargers? Maybe, but definetely not right now.

6-1... Eat it Peter Queen.

If people actually think the Giants are the most complete team their kidding themselves, we'll prove that theory wrong in a couple of weeks...

I can somehwat understand this, but many of these mediots seem to always talk about how a team responds when they hit some adveristy. Well, last time I checked, the team is 2-1 in that timespan, while its only loss came against supposedly the greatest team ever in the NFL according to some mediots, a game in which they were leading near the end of the 3rd quarter.

They are the biggest excuse makers when it comes to going against their biases. I can understand legitimate reservations, but at least be consistent in your reasoning. Consistency is just not their strongsuit. I don't even think it's their "weak"suit.

A 3-3 team and he puts them at #3 ? That's funny. But, I do enjoy the hate !

Who cares what ANY of the pundits think. Many of them picked the Cowboys to go to the SB last year after the win over the Colts. That didn't work out to well did it.Many of them picked New Orleans to go to the SB this year. How's that working out for them. The first half of the season (just like the first half of any Cowboys game) doesn't mean much. The REAL season, the one that defines who is who starts now. We'll find out what we really have in the next 8 games.

does any of this matter?

I think we are probably the most talented team in the NFC, but the fact is we've played pretty mediocre ball the last 3 weeks...we arnt healthy either

I can see why someone right now, today, would say Jax and NYG are a little better than us...I can also see the argument for us...ultimately it doesnt matter, but unless we beat bad teams better than what we did vs Buffalo and Minnesota, nobody is going to give us universal respect

Not that I give him or these rankings much credence, but look at his reasoning.

Who cares what Peter King actually thinks.

Personally, the Cowboys offense underwhelmed me also. Tony Romo said after the game. "We executed." Yeah, when they weren't inconsistent. This team isn't going to win a Superbowl with their inconsistent offense. I see two glaring issues. First is the offense as a whole NOT being properly prepared. It just doesn't look like some of them are working as hard to prepare for a game as they should. Secondly, is everyone loved Garrett's play calling because he was calling risky plays and getting away with them. If the plays had failed, people would be calling for his head. What I'm seeing is unbending strategy when on offense rather than attacking the defense weakness.

The best part of Belicheat's coaching/play calling style is he looks at your weakness and attacks it full force. If you are overcompensating to protect that weakness, then he attacks the opposite of where your overcompensating. Maybe it's just me, but Garrett is trying to do what the Cowboys of the 90s did. Impose their will on the defense and while this team has the talent to do it, they don't seem properly prepared to do it. The inconsistency is very telling, the fact that they sometimes execute says they can do it, but all the three and outs and not protecting the ball says they aren't prepared enough.

Continues to fall under the heading of 'Who Cares?' for me...It's a 'ranking' and what does that even mean, anyway?...Only ranking that matters, is the one at the end of the season...Anyone ranked 3rd after the superbowl might as well be ranked 10 or lower, they lost.

What I did enjoy from PKs article was this tidbit of a quote on Reggie Bush (i.e. overhyped machine).

Quote of the Week II

"How about Reggie Bush today? He was unbelievable. You hear all the crap he's taking for not running downhill, but that guy competes more than many people I've ever seen in this league.''

-- New Orleans linebacker Scott Fujita, after Bush caught a 4-yard touchdown pass, pile-driving the final two yards through two Atlanta defenders.

And still averaging 3 yards per carry...At that rate, he's competing less than most of the RBs in the league...Unbelievable the hype for this kid

The Giants are playing more consistently in all aspects of the game than the Cowboys are. Silver and Blue goggles do not help on the field. If the Cowboys do not start preparing better and Garrett doesn't start attacking weaknesses rather than trying to impose his will on the opposing defense, we might just drop that game against the Giants in the Meadowlands.

For those who "don't care", don't respond.

The point wasn't about giving King credence to his rankings. It was about pointing out the inconsistency in his rankings due to his obvious biases.

I wouldn't have, except that I had a point I wanted to make about what I thought about the offense's consistency. ;)
