I don't see much discussion about DT Peter Woods.

NFLDraftBuzz estimates Woods to run a 4.75 forty at 315 pounds.
- They estimate DE Keldric Fault to run a 4.74 forty at 285 pounds.

Could Woods play base DE on run downs?

I actually would love this pick. It allows you to move on from oza and Kenny Clark after next season.

In a 3-4 definitely. I think he is a guy we definitely have to consider if he is there at 12.

I think a 4.75 is pretty ambitious though. A 4.75 would be outstanding for Faulk at 40 pounds lighter.

How many times have I watched the draft and seen a team who was already well off at a position end up drafting the same position because the player is too good to pass on?

It seems like that happens and a couple years later said draft pick is a franchise player.

If they think hes as good as hes being rated by some, then yes please. Go get this guy.

He is a stud. Top 10 type guy heading in this year and his stock cooled down as he didnt really build off his prior season.

He actually played Edge for them some so can do that but I see him as a 3T.

Def should be on our radar.

Woods just looks like a potential wrecking ball of a 3-tech to me.

He plays with aggression, relentlessness and is frequently disruptive despite his stats dropping off a bit this year.

He reminds me of Fletcher Cox. I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes top-10 honestly.

I wonder how much trade value Osa would have. If he's really as sneaky good as everyone says, GMs should see it. And his contract is pretty reasonable.

If Woods is best player on board at 12 would there be another team maybe willing to move up for him where we move down some and pick up that 2nd or 3rd round pick we don't have?

Maybe, depending on how many players the Cowboys have with a similar ranking.
- i.e. If no CBs have been drafted at #12, then there's a good chance that one they like is available a few spots later.

They need to go (stay) all-in at DT for 2026 and then sort it out for 2027.
- i.e. Keep QW, Kenny Clark and Osa even if they draft one in the 1st.
- They'll likely play some snaps in 3-4 with Osa and QW at 5-tech.

For sure, I wouldn't trade him right away. Maybe next year or even at the deadline this year if it made sense.

Main point is if you needed to, you might be able to move him for decent value because his contract is very fair.

Thing about the NFL is you can be as good as anyone but if the stats don’t back it up then you might as well be bad.

I sort of try to watch ACC teams. I was high on Woods going into the year, as DT was a big weakness for us. Not going to say he was bad, but felt like the entire Clemson defense just under delivered to start the year.

With GT's run, I sort of stopped following clemson, so not sure if he turned it around. But almost feels like Bryan Bresee, where a highly talented DT joins Clemson, flashes potential but their final year they don't live up to that hype.

I think he's a better overall prospect than Bresee, and should still go ~top 10-15 depending on combine/proday
