Pettiti kind of got schooled

Yep, big play Al...
I think Rob is progressing nicely...

However, I am somewhat disappointed in our rushing game...Pretty good in the first half, not much at all in the 2nd...

Yes, Al Johnson did whiff bad on the LBer block...& doesn't get any push...I didn't see Gurode play at all did he?

No, I mean why were you listening to the idiots in SF and taking what they say seriously?

Those homo erotic weirdos are still pissed about getting their arses handed to them in 1993

Man you crack me up!!!

:lmao2:

Right now, Rob is not the weakest link on the line. Al J is. Needs get bigger and stronger, IMO.

He messed up a lot today I wish Gurode was in there it would have helped JJ bigtime. I can't tell you how many times JJ got hit in the back field because of Al J

We seem to have a choice: play Johnson who does not make as many mistakes, but tends to get physically dominated, or play Gurode, who makes more mistakes but does not get pushed around.

I would respectfully suggezst you have that backwards. Rob played pretty well today. As a 6th round rookie going against Bryant he has nothing to hang his head over. Simply a great draft pick.

The play they're talking about when Al let the LB get to the QB was a play where the OL slid to the left and Al had to go outside of Pettitti at RT from his Center position to pass protect...he got a piece but the guy pushed by him.

I"m no Johnson fan...I'd like to see the power of Gurode in there, but anyone who thinks Gurode would have been more mobile in making that play is crazy...Gurode is a little slow upstairs...I doubt we'd have seen him pulling past the RT to try and get a pass block.

That sack on the first drive was not Pettitti's fault. That looked like a designed naked boot and a veteran defensive lineman simply sniffed it out. Rob blocked down on the play, as the entire flow of the offense went left. That was simply a great read as Bryant Young did not bite.

On Al Johnson, he was manhandled for much of the day. It was not pretty for him.

I think I would rather have Gurode in there when we are trying to run the ball.

Pettiti looked fine to me, the entire line looked pretty good to me, most of the time, Bledsoe had all day to throw back there. The sack he took in the second half was his own fault, he held the ball too long.
I mean Bledsoe really had a long, long time to throw on most passing plays. I was very happy with our OL. The weakest link is Johnson in the center. Several plays, if he gets his man blocked, JJ breaks a big one. Gurode needs to pull his head out and become the starter.

Agreed. I am happy with the OL play to date. Perfect? No. But solid. They're protecting and giving Julius the L.O.S. for the most part. And I think the unit will continue to improve.

If they considered Bryant Young's performance as "schooling" Rob Petitti, then they don't have very high expectations for their defensive linemen.

Dale your my man but that would translate to 16 sacks 80 tackles and 16 PD that is AllPro material.
