I live 60 miles from Buffalo. Their Oline was the weakest part of the team by far. Cowboys line is only slightly better than them?

Cowboys had 3 lineman in the top 100 players! This list is hilarious.

There's really no reason why the O-Line can't be better than it has ever been outside of potential injuries and/or Witten perhaps slowing down more than we think (TE blocking is a big key to this offense).

If Cooper is the LG and Collins is the RT, we essentially have 5 former 1st round talents on the O-Line (Collins was a UDFA due to an unfortunate situation of no fault of his own).

The media loves to stir Cowboys fans up, so now that Free is gone they want to make him a player that we'll miss out on. When Free was with the team, they couldn't help but say how bad he was. The truth lies more in the middle..he was a pretty good run blocker that could be a great run blocker at times and a capable pass protector that would have his struggles about 3 times a year. There were certainly better RT's out there and Collins is just far more gifted that Free ever was.

Cooper is a different story and Leary was underappreciated around the league. However, he was a decent run blocker and good in pass protection. Cooper has more talent than Leary did and was traded by Arizona because of injuries and the chance to pick up Chandler Jones. The Pats cut Cooper due to those injuries and because Cooper was rusty and wasn't starting for the Browns, his agent asked the Browns to cut him.

And when Chaz Green stepped in for Tyron last year, the O-Line didn't miss a beat.

Combine that with EE's great blocking we should be able to pick up any slack from Collins making the adjustment to RT. That's why I see Cooper and the LG position being more critical, but if Cooper can return to his old form and Collins can adjust to RT, it's a bit scary how good this O-Line could be. The liability of 'bad Doug Free' for those few games could be gone along with Collins being a bigger force at RT. And with Cooper we have a better fit for the zone blocking scheme and when they call for him to pull. So now we could be very strong threats to run right or left or up the middle and we can pull either guard or either tackle quite effectively.

Free was toast by the end of last year so his loss is a classic case of addition by subtraction. It would take some work to put someone there who was worse.
Collins has shown that he can be at the least a good guard. So if he started there is very little difference between him and Leary. If Collins is only average at RT that puts him better than Free. So we still have only one spot on the line that one COULD argue might be worse than last year. When you have arguably three best players at their positions out of five only a complete idiot would drop the Boys line down that far.

How did we fall so far? We spent the most money in the NFL on our Oline and we can't make the top 5? Arrrrrrgh. Oh well...

We have more O linemen in their top 50 players list and we aren't even top 5.

PFF really is PFFT...........1st of all Peters is about a birthday or two away from collecting Social Security, Kelce has never been anything above mediocre, and Peds Johnson is stepping to the plate with two strikes on him leaving one more strike until he starts filling out job applications......it really sounds like Howie gave someone at PFF an awesome "highway delight" to buy that rating.

I just don't see how you can rank a unit that has 3 pro-bowlers a couple of All-Pros and rate them that low? Both Green and Collins have shown they can play. Someone is really underrating the line and overrating others. Let's not forget Leary was an UDFA with a bum knee who turned out to be pretty good. They also had Doug Free who many thought he was terrible. With the exception of Leary I don't see how those guys don't add at least an upgrade in the "athletic" department. I guess we will see

they are fuzzy with facts?

I read CSM, Foreign Policy, and the Economist daily. I avoid TV news --TV in general really-- but if I have to watch it I will watch CBS.

Those outlets have no real commonality and I only consume one of them and that is very infrequent. People are going to believe what they want to believe and if they want to parrot the marketing propaganda of their preferred outlets and put it on me laughing at them seems the best option.

You ever catch anything from Noam Chomsky? There's a marvelous documentary on Netflix titled "Requiem for the American Dream" and all it is is Noam sitting in his chair, being brilliant (I'll just leave it at that).

There's also some good Al Jazeera content with him (interviews) on YouTube.
