Keeping Farniok is unfortunate???

Farniok was solid playing Center the whole game against Seattle. Definitely need to keep Matt Farniok......FORTUNATELY.
It's unfortunate that you have to give a spot to a guy who is a backup C because the younger players don't have that flex is the unfortunate problem. I'm not talking about Farniok the player.

He has no upside and isn't really worth a roster spot, but that's not the point.

That's where you're wrong. Absolutely wrong. Backup Center is very important, especially since it's the most important position in the whole Oline. Plus, if something were to happen to Biadasz, Farniok would be ready to fill in without it affecting the Oline.

I didn't say backup C isn't important, I basically said the exact opposite, because you need to keep that player.

I said that Farniok is the only backup C so you don't have roster flexibility with the spot.

I liked Bass from the get go as a possible UFDA to make the team or more likely the PS based on that College stat that was on here about his blocking and how well he did, but it's nuts how one positive tweet about how he did against 3rd stringers has him on everyone's 53 all of a sudden. Gotta love the preseason

That being said I love seeing how some of these guys perform well. If nothing else it gives options if they continue to improve over time

He has NOT been great in the run game and is just short of a turnstyle in pass protection
Ya he has.. watch the all 22 again, you did it wrong or something or you wouldn't be saying that. You'd be complementing the guys bend if you payed attention.

What I love about Bass is that he’s just an OG. And, he looks like just an OG. None of that position flex BS. I think he’s the starter in 2024 at LG next to Tyler smith.
He was a LT at Oregon, so he did have to transition to OG. Just like Zack Martin.

I am perfectly comfortable if Bass was the backup OG on either side. He looks like he is not overwhelmed at the NFL level like some rookies may be. I feel better with him than Ball, or even Waletzko, they both are not ready for the big time, if ever.

Everybody needs to slow down on Bass. I’m really excited about his future. The guy is super quick and uses his hands really well, but he really needs a strength program for a year.

If people think he’s the backup guard, that’s definitely gonna be Ball first, then probably Asim (if he’s not playing tackle), then Farniok and THEN Bass. Let’s let this kid learn the system and bulk up a bit. His future is bright but let’s not crown him too early
