I think it's fair.

The Cowboys seemed to flip flop strategies. Not wanting to spend money (aka upgrade talent) and then went win now mode taking a RB 4th overall.

It interesting to see these things but in reality it take two or three years to judge a draft class and you got to play some games to address the free agents

If we go through a QB drought after Romo and one of these three QBs this year turns out to be legit, most will consider this offseason a disaster and I would be one of them.

I didn't realize Zeke isn't going to be playing in 5 years.

It's win now and later. They chose the talent. Like they did in the 2nd round too.

Win now with this defense?

Sure.

Look at the 2014 defense the Cowboys went 12-4 with. A d-line of George Selvie, Tyrone Crawford, Nick Hayden, and Jeremy Mincey. No Sean Lee at linebacker. It's very possible Dallas can win now with their current defense.

That defense was never going to stop Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, or Tom Brady in the 4th quarter. Bad defenses are exposed even more in games that matter.

I agree, but with a ball-control offense, the plan is for the Cowboys to be protecting a lead in the fourth quarter. That defense did stop Russell Wilson in Seattle a couple years ago, and maybe it would have stopped Rodgers too, had the Dez catch not been overturned. Now we'll never know how that game would have turned out if Dallas took the lead; because the Packers would have been playing it differently if they were behind and had to score.

I understand the whole "defense wins championships" mantra. But plenty of teams with mediocre defenses have won Super Bowls if the offense was good enough. The 1993 Cowboys, for example, had a very average defense compared to the 1992 version.

Considering we didn't do anything in free agency.......That's probably about right. Considering our draft class is teetering on disaster already for this season....I could see this grade being even lower.

I mean it's all based on their own arbitrary player grades so I'm not surprised.

They have a system you don't agree with, but it's far from arbitrary. It makes a heck of a lot more sense than a lot of the declerations we see every day about how this player is good and this other player sucks, "because I said so."
