–The Cowboys were clearly trying to get La’el Collins some live reps at LG Thursday night. He played 51 snaps earning an overall grade of +2.2 and excelling in the run game with a run blocking grade of +1.7.

–Corey White had the best coverage grade of the night with a +2.4 on 15 passing plays.

–Lavar Edwards was in 19 plays yet was still able to earn a +1.5 overall grade due to his physicality in the run game. He graded +1.8 on run defense against 11 rushing plays.

Top 5 Graded Players

La’el Collins (+2.2)

Lavar Edwards (+1.5)

Corey White (+1.5)

Travis Frederick (+1.3)

Jonathan Brown (+1.3)

Great post, thanks for sharing with the rest of the board.

LaVar Edwards hasn't been talked about as he gets lost in the shuffle with everyone we have brought in and the darling that is Gardner..

but I was very impressed with his play that night showed me that maybe we need to look at him more

I thought I was the only one impressed with Lavar Edwards the other day.

Even before camp started, I heard rumors that the team was high on Lavar Edwards and was looking forward to seeing him this year.

I though he was better than Gardner and comparable to Russell in the San Diego game.

Right now, I'd rank them Hardy, Gregory, Mincey, Lawrence, Russell, Edwards, Gardner and Obada. (I did not count Jack Crawford because he seems to have found a home at the 3-tech.)

I completely agree with you...

Not to mention If memory servers me right wasn't Russell also taking snaps at the 3tech?

I know he has in practice. I don't remember offhand if he played it during the game.

Corey White frustrated me in this game because he was in the right spot to make a catalytic type play quite a few times and didn't come up with the ball.

I like that he was around the ball but making that play or not is often the difference between winning and losing.

That Fredrick guy can play. I hope he makes the team.

My guess is, it depends on Free's health.

I would like to see Collins switch to RT for the next game and see what he has at that spot.

If Collins can take over RT from day 1 that would give us the youngest and best line for years to come. Playing beside All-Pro Martin would help him as well.

Chaz Green could possibly be our future at RT and if Leary ever has injury we could slide Collins at LG and Green at RT.

Smith, Leary, Fred, Martin, Collins

Smith, Collins, Fred, Martin, Green

Smith, Leary, Fred, Martin, Free

You pick which one you like best
