knowing we were weak at safety
The Jones don't like it when "everyone" is saying we need a Safety. They lean into and double down on their poor decisions. Every once in a while (Earl twice, Jamal once) they take a half-hearted swing for the fences and then immediately go back to "we like our guys".

Cliff notes: They have no idea what they are doing, as far as player personnel.

But didnt he also give them a first down with a penalty?
I get it why you would grade them down, just seems excessive.

If you average out the rush defense and pass rush, it's like 52.45, so almost 20 points in penalty.

PFF grading receives a lot of critique, especially since traditional grading includes Alignment and Assignment, and only coaching staffs know that..However, I like it as a standard unit of measurement. We, as fans, recognize the scoring and for the most part, if you are being subjective (a rarity on this board I know), they typically line up with what we see. I look at PFF grading like I look at The Combine. There's much more to a draft prospect than his Combine performance, but we all recognize 4.3 and 4.4 is exceptionally fast, a RB running a 4.8 is an issue, etc. It gives us a mental standard or landmark to apply to what we see in the game.

Correct PFF isnt the end all be all. Your combine analogy is perfect. If what i see matches up to the game tape its a good metric.

Its also getting better each year. With getting more quality analysts and more analytics

Dak and Zeke had the highest grades by far yet they get the most complaints.

Tells me a lot about the football IQ of the Cowboys fan base, unfortunately.

Too many times he could’ve saved the game with his legs. I get he wants to preserve himself in a contract year but believe it or not we’d be more effective than the ravens on offense. He was just deadly at mississippi.

Kyler beat that 49er’s team with Mainly his legs yesterday.
Dak was 7th in QB rush yards so he isn't doing a lot of saving....
