PFF Highest-graded running backs

Ahhhh I think i'd rather have an actual TE or 6th OL in the game to block on the line. Zeke is great in pass protection, but I dont want him playing a fullback type of role. lead blocking, really run blocking in general is a different animal. You can absolutely have Zeke & Pollard both in the backfield to keep the defense guessing, but thats about the extent of that advantage.

All I know is I'm willing to move him around to find a way to help our run game. Cause what they doing isn't working. Same for McGovern, absolutely use him more.

You got to give Pollard the ball to hell with contracts. Move him out wide if you have to do some trick plays, or want to prevent them from stacking the box too much. We just gotta utilize our weapons better.

An interesting point is only Taylor is true lead, handle the lions share of carries type of RB. Harris, Dillion and Pollard are all in time share situations with various degrees of usage. Maybe the time share situation is the better way to go.

By comparison Zeke is a 66.3 on PFF.

To be fair to Zeke though PFF does not grade RBs in pass protection, which is an area Zeke excels in.

And short yardage, but everything else average or slightly above. AKA another overrated Cowboy player.

Zeke was 9 for 16. 1.78 avg!
oh my pollard was so much more dominant not sure i can argue with that ******:lmao::lmao2:

give it up ..the OL is broken, it sux and so does KM run offense..get passed it this isnt back issue its philosophical and execution issue, start's and ends up front

Offensive lines been offensive..we arent physical we arent even trying..Kellen Moore the hero the early season call for HC replacement..lmao :facepalm:

clueless fans

Zeke has averaged 1000 a season, his 4.5 average is studly, Zeke is a quality RB but......we paid way too much.

I would never ever use a first round pick on any college RB, BUT,,,,,after that rookie contract if they are like a Jonathan Taylor pay them, no not get silly like Zeke.

There are TONS of running backs out there TONS you can get them in any round, just don't do it with a first round pick.

Nothing is easier than being a running back, that is why rookies walk right in and take off. All instincts, nothing to really learn just do what ya been doing since 8 years old.

Rookie Gale Sayers did better vs the NFL than he did vs The Big 8.

So tired of hearing Zeke praised for his pass protection. Meanwhile he can't run towards the outside and Dak somehow still gets beaten up every game.

Zeke sucks. Let's stop making excuses for him. His job is not to just block for the QB. Imagine if there was a WR who was great at running routes, getting separation, blocking on run plays but couldn't catch. Would people always mention how good he is at all the other things tangentially related to his job?

And finally, can we be serious.....how often is the RB the person who saves a QB from being sacked or hurried? A few times a game? Twice? Is that reason enough to excuse them sucking at the other things they are to be doing?

And none of them 1st round picks....I was a fan of the Zeke pick but we learn time and time again to not take RBs high, and dont give them record setting contracts.

I used to think that about linebackers too until the Parsons pick. LOL

This is just sad.

We average the 4th highest passing attempts per game, the only teams higher than us are Tampa, Kansas and Pittsburgh.

How do you want our run game to be effective if THEY DO NOT GET THE REPs..

you are so busy laying into Zeke and fighting over whether Pollard is better (I believe they are complimentary to each other).. that you fail to see the bigger picture.. we DO NOT run the ball enough!!

The other 'pass happy' teams have Brady and Mahomes as their QB.. Dak is NOT Brady or Mahomes.. there is ZERO reason why we should be passing so much.

Commit to the run and I think you will see that Zeke and Pollard will get the job done.

I did not like the Zeke pick from day 1. I would have taken Ramsey in a second. RBs are just not worth what they once were and you can find them in the middle rounds. I'd rather draft offensive line. The Eagles lead the league in rushing. Miles Sanders is a 2nd round pick (21st pick) and the rest of their RBs are 5th and 6th rounders. The top 4 rushing teams this year do not have a RB selected in the 1st round. The 5th highest rushing team, the Ravens, are getting it done with guys they picked up off the street.

Running the football requires only 2 things. 1. An offensive line and TEs that can block - WRs too if you can get them. 2. A commitment to run the football the entire game. RBs can be found all over the draft and many teams have proven this to be true.

Then Jerry compounded the mistake of drafting Zeke by giving him an absurd contract. Now we are stuck with him for another year and maybe more if Jerry does the dumb thing and restructures Zeke to make CAP room.

The Eagles leading rusher is their QB. and Zeke has 12 total touchdowns, whereas the eagle's top 3 Running backs combined only have 10. Weird comparison

Can't believe we are stuck with fatty for another year after this. At this point we would be better off if he continues to fall off to the point where we can cut him Jaylon Smith style and move on. These types of overpaid preferential treatment poor performance situations are toxic in the locker room. So many guys on this team are deserving of more bank but that clown held out and took it all. Way to go Jerry.

So a QB running the football doesn't count? Okay, so we'll take Hurts out. The Eagles average 5.0 yards with his stats, and 4.7 yards per carry without his stats. That still puts them at 6th in the league in average yds per carry. And The Eagles are only 1 of 5 teams I mentioned. The central point that a 1st round back is not needed is still valid.
