To memory, we've only faced him once and it was 2018, when he averaged 5 yards per carry. I seem to remember him being injured last season when we played Carolina in Week 4.

What is making McCaffrey way more dangerous in SF is that he's in a way less predictable offense. The Panthers strategy for several years was force him the ball and hope for the best. Brilliant trade by Lynch.

What is funny is if you noticed the NFL commercial with the RB's he is no longer the last RB shown (in fact he's not shown at all), the last guy is Curtis Martin now.

At the very least Pollard is in the same ballpark as CMAC. I understand the argument that can be made in favor of CMAC, but I do not believe the gap is as big as many would think.
Probably true but In saying that you acknowledge that there is indeed a gap.

McCaffery has come on strong after 2 injury filled seasons. Highest paid RB in the NFL and showing he is worth it. Big test for Cowboys this weekend.

Tony Pollard is just as good as CMAC. The 49ers better hope they can stop him too.
Now only if we used Pollard like they use CMAC. How do you stop a bully?
You go punch them in the mouth. Let Zeke be the lead blocker and let Pollard scorch them.
All the pressure is on the Niners, they have the genius Head coach, we have Big Mike.
I can honestly see a quite confidence in our team and we should beat them by 10.

Unfortunately Pollard is not as great a player as McCaff, .. for one thing, Pollard under Kellen Moore has never been developed nor exploited the
way McCaff is and has been.

- Christian is out right deadly in the pass game and Shanahan definitely knows how to scheme RBs in the pass game ..
That's just an area that is simply not Kellen's forte.

- Shanahan is a sheer master of moving personnel around in both the run game (ala Deebo) ..and pass game (ala McCaffrey)

- Pollard was used in a muiltude of roles at Memphis, but we've very rarely seen any creativity with Pollard in the pass game.
Two of those rarities that come to is our past Vikes game where Pollard just jet right past a LB on a wheel route for a downfield TD homerun .

- The other is the outta of the slot formation vs Detroit Lions some years ago, for a wide open homerun TD.

- If Kellen was anything adept at scheming Pollard even in quick middle screens, and misdirection flairs - Pollard would be that much more utterly
scary dangerous to opposing defenses.

Stopping CMac and co is going to be priority #1 on Sunday. You can’t let their run game beat you, you gotta put it on their rookie QB.
