Yes, you can end up with a kicker that melts in the playoffs and the regular season.

The draft is the wild card that I don't know much about the kicking class....it's not exactly a passion of mine to scout lol. As far as free agents go though it seems like you have a guy like Gould that would be a great acquisition but also should have several bidders, go back to Greg the leg, or maybe we see an unexpected name hit free agency. The limited options makes me think the odds of seeing Maher back with maybe a UDFA kicker to compete with in camp is a real possibility.
Well, i'd rather go with the guy who hasn't already proven he sucks under pressure.

Well, obviously "pay" comes with a caveat. If Wilson wants to be be a top 5 paid safety, then we might have to pass. I don't know what any of these guys want.
They want what they can get and I don’t blame them. The real question is what a team will offer them. I don’t see the justification for top 5 money myself but some team may. I love him as a player more because of his leadership than anything else. He’s a guy that excites his team mates and I’d love to keep him but I think he will certainly get some nice offers and likely get more than we can offer

Well, I am always suspicious of guys who have break out years when their contract is up. Maybe its better we don't pay him.

He has improved every year but I agree on one year guys. The biggest one is a guy like Payne who I love but I’d bet money he’s not a double digit sack guy next year and he will get paid like one

Exactly. Some guys just turn on the juice when its time to get paid. But thats probaly not the new normal so you have to consider that..........is it improvement or just improved effort.

I agree with much of these. I might quibble with Hilton - I wouldn't mind him being back on a cheapish deal. Hankins should be brought back. Watkins, I am OK with, as long as we have some sort of plan to upgrade DT where Watkins is simply a role player. But if the plan is Watkins and Hankins as your starting DTs, with Odi spread in there, that's just dumb.
