I would smash my TV if the Cowboys took Jeanty over Tet, and I like Jeanty.
I'm hoping that we bring in a No. 2 WR through free agency or a trade, so I'd be happy to go with Jeanty then, although I'd prefer to have a DT with that first pick and wait until the second round for an RB. I won't be mad if Jeanty is the pick, though. I mean, if you knew you had a chance to take Emmitt Smith, would you pass on him? Not saying Jeanty is Emmitt, but we don't know. All we know is that he is that he's widely considered to be one of the top 10 prospects in the first round, and even top five by some.

Question: If we could get a beast DL or OL in round one, why wouldn’t we draft a RB in rounds 2-6? Finding great trench players are infinitely harder to find than RBs.

On SB Sunday Philly showed a clear example of what a team looks like that has great lines on both sides of the ball. In fact, they reminded everyone that a devastating DL can take away even a HOF all time great QB like Mahomes.

So why would we draft a RB in round one?

Load up on expensive positions in the draft in rds 1-2 like QB, difference maker on DL, OT, WR

RB can be had later or in FA or both

Cowboys need to trade down 10 spots with the Chargers for their 22nd (1st round) and 55th (2nd round) and 177th (late 5th round). Then trade down a second time from the 22nd spot with the Rams for their 26th (late 1st round) and 100th (very late 3rd round) picks in return for the Cowboys 22nd (1st) and recently acquired 177th (very late 5th) picks.

This leaves the Cowboys with:

1st round: 26
2nd round: 44 & 55
3rd round: 76 & 100
4th round: (Cowboys can trade one of their 5th & 6th round picks to get a draft pick in the 4th.)
5th round: 150, 170, 172 & 174
6th round: 190 & 211
7th round: 228

This would give them Cowboys 12 draft picks to start. They would be able to draft inside every round, except the 4th round, but as stated above, they can always trade one of their 5th & 6th round picks to get a draft pick in the 4th.

I'm warming up to the thought of Walter Nolen at 12.

I would look RB starting on day two of the draft.
