I think they’re accounting for base and nickel, which most teams play more nickel than base

And expected starters for the majority of the season, even if they may not start game 1

It’s worth noting that Elam was an interesting player to trade for. Because they coudove easily drafted Diggs replacement which they did with Revel. But to me when you trade for Elam that represents you want a high ceiling cheap guy who can be more then what you have. Diggs is at the end IMO.

Some context
* He pi___ed Jerry off by not following the team trainers' rehab program from his first injury
* This led to reinjury that Jerry believes could have been avoided
* He's now missing time ( could be several games to start the season )
* Word is he now doesn't trust team trainers.
* He's currently rehabbing away from team facilities and trainers

I could be wrong but it appears some serious trust issues between the two are done. Just me but I think as soon as he's cleared, Jerry will either trade him or release him ( to avoid the same movie ).

I guess they did not realize we were playing the Eagles or is our plan to stay in nickle coverage and let Barkley run for 300 yards in week 1.

It’s interesting when you look at the average collective PFF scores for Cowboys players on both sides of the ball.
OFFENSE Avg PFF score: 65.9
DEFENSE Avg PFF score: 58.6

A score of 60 is considered good. A score of 70+ is very good…as in Pro Bowl good. A score above 80 is All Pro.

Pretty clear this defense is below average and glaringly bad at DT (apart from Odighizhua) with Mazi at a 34.8 score and a collection of 7th round long shots like Justin Rogers, Jay Toia and Tommy Akingbesote apparently expected to perform miracles. And unheralded FA LB Kenneth Murray is also somehow supposed to be an upgrade for a team needing massive help to stop the run?

It is noteworthy that these scores are just based on last year, not career. A rookie like Booker’s score is based on their last year in college.
