I'm OK with no other player making the top 100, although I'd say Diggs should definitely be there. PFF has some value, but it's way of assessing players isn't exact science; it's just another way to look at players. So I take it with a grain of salt.

The good thing about the defense is that, aside from some of the guys in the middle, there's not many below average players out there. So you get a better product across the board. Couple that with Quinn and his scheme and Dallas is set to have another successful season on the defensive side of the ball.

Yep. This is fricken bogus. This guy Graham isn’t 100 players better than Lawrence. I’d wager that you could offer Lawrence in an even swap with Graham right now and most Eagles fans would take it, not to mention 30 out of 32 GMs.

Either sacks are way over valued by their site or the metrics are jacked up in some other way.

Context is important. This is not a cumulative totality stat, it’s a per play performance stat. What their value was when they were on the field.

Brandon Graham had 11 sacks, 21 pressures, and 16 QB hits in only 474 snaps

Demarcus Lawrence had 6 sacks, 21 pressures, 13 QB hits in 697 snaps. That is a significant difference

I love PFF but mostly for their stats / advanced stats. Their grades can be way off.

Tank and Diggs should be locks in the top 100.

Right....Dlaw is on the field more making it harder. Graham comes in in specialty situations like rushing the passer.

Complete DE vs one trick pony.

Keep in mind i feel dirty for having to do this as I bashed Dlaw the last couple of years but he was a good player this year. lol

Love or hate PFF there are 31 other teams. Just based on the number available defensive players in the league to grade, is not hard for me to believe at all that no other Cowboys made the top 100.

This is why PFF always has me eye rolling.

Explain how Brandon Graham is rated higher than Hassan Reddick?

If your argument is Demarcus’s production decayed because his play time took a toll on him, then that is why his score ended up lower. It is not a participation trophy

No one is saying he wasn’t a good player; just that based on tape provided during this season, Graham was more dominant from play to play; whatever reason there is to come to that conclusion

PFF has little consistency because it’s not the same guy watching all the players. It’s subjective.

For that, You have to understand how PFF grades players. This is not a cumulative achievement stat, but an average value stat when they’re on the field.

Graham had 11 sacks 21 pressures, 16 QB hits in 474 snaps

Reddick had 16 sacks, 41 pressures, 26 Qb hits in 817 snaps

Then you factor in which player PFF determined had the better year in run defense. I don’t have PFF membership to see, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Graham was quite a bit higher in that category, as is his wont.

I agree Reddick had the much better year in totality, but on a per snap basis I can understand how PFF came to this conclusion.

Yeah that’s a big one. Like they’ll rate if a DL player had a positive or negative play in a run play that goes away from them… how do you determine that? And can that be different depending on who see it

Plus with the sheer number of snaps and players to evaluate, they need to have a lot of low pay employees to get that out promptly. Quality control would be even harder

Agreed, bro.

PFF is owned by Chris Collinsworth who has always hated the Cowboys. 'Nuff said.

We tell Jerry this over and over and over, and he still wants a CB in the 1st.
