PFF Stat on Jourdan Lewis

Absoulely insane. This defense is still a few pieces away but a player of Lewis’ caliber is hard to come by and often times is a result of sheer luck. Maybe that’s a homer opinion but he’s already the best cover corner we’ve had since Newman.

And that's to say nothing about his elite tackling ability. I do not recall us having a corner that could tackle like he can in at least the past 15 years.

They once concluded that Doug Free was better than Tyron Smith.

Some of their stats are OK but all the ones that are highly subjective are crap.

The stat about Lewis is fairly straight forward. They only need to accurately access which receiver he was covering. That can be a little tricky in zone coverage but I think they can be fairly accurate with it.

The grades they give out like the ones for OLinemen are crap. It would take multiple reviews of each play to get close and they put out the gradesa within 24 hours and before the All-22 is available. There is no way an 80 person company could do what they claim to do.

They pay bloggers to review games and grade players. Those people are not experts and will never have consistent grades. Bloggers are fans and have fan bias.

OK....

I never thought I would see it again in my lifetime but by God I think we might have a good secondary brewing. The days of us getting thrown on at will might be coming to and end. God bless us, everyone.

Give it a year. Thats when this coaching staff will make a blunder of our secondary and train them on techniques that will be detrimental to their playmaking abilities.

My only complaint against PFF is having to see their rankings during the SNF player intros.

So true..

DBs regress from their rookie year in Dallas.
I think it’s the hype/atmosphere around the team. This even goes back to Newman and we had parcells here. Somebody has to let them know that they haven’t accomplished anything.

Sophomre slumps can affect a player regardless of the round they were chosen.
Awuzie wasn't a 1st rounder and Lewis wasn't a 2nd rounder.
Lewis wasn't a first or second because of domestic violence issue. Awuzie was climbing boards and some had him as a 1st. Again they both were clearly a first and second round talent.

I don't disagree that slumps happen to any prospect but they can also take a huge leap. You can't say they will go backwards because of a 6th round pick.
