PFF Stat on Jourdan Lewis

Just remember.. We’ll have Duke Thomas back next year from IR. There was talks he was going to make the team out of preseason before he hurt his knee. And I’m still holding out hope that Marquez White will make the jump from practice squad to active roster in year two. White was a beast in his only full season at FSU playing along side Jalen Ramsey. He started 13 games as a senior, allowing just 22 receptions and one touchdown, while posting 25 tackles (2 for loss), 2 interceptions and 6 passes defensed.

I liked White in college. He is good against the Dez style of big but not uber fast WRs.

Duke Thomas made a few plays in the preseason. It will be like having an extra draft pick with him returning. He has some speed.

What exactly was the comment? I hadn't heard what he said.

This whole thing. Just exactly the mentality and attitude you want.

“Loud, my neck is still stiff a little bit," Awuzie said. "It was very loud, very forceful, big. I bounced up pretty quick. Had to. Can't be looking like no sucker."

Awuzie said he prides himself on being a complete cornerback, one who isn't afraid of contact when tackling.

"Real ball players when the play snaps you just do your job," Awuzie said. "I'm not going to make a business decision or do anything like that, I'm going to do my job and that was to stop him where I hit him and make sure he didn't get any more yards, and I think I did a pretty good job of that.

"If you're on that football field, you should be able to do everything, you should want to do everything, love to do everything. That's all part of it. People who really love football, that's the type of plays you're going to get. They ain't going to make no business decision. People were definitely giving me respect and showing me love, and that's always good, but that’s just who I am.”

Those quotes @WillieBeamen we bout to be lit in the secondary. Just need a running mate with Heath and we in there

Absoulely insane. This defense is still a few pieces away but a player of Lewis’ caliber is hard to come by and often times is a result of sheer luck. Maybe that’s a homer opinion but he’s already the best cover corner we’ve had since Newman.
I remember when we drafted him Kiper and McShay both said “he’s the best pure cover corner in the draft” and he sure as hell is playing like it.

Let's not forget the sophomore slump that may happen next year. We were all bowing down at the alter of Anthony Brown last year.
It does seem to be real. Across the league you see second year players showing it
Seems silly since having the experience should help you
As for brown I think some of his was getting called for hands early and hurting his confidence
The only logical thing to me about a sophomore slump is teams have tape to find your weakness
But sure seems to be real

how can the guy be rated so highly yet the staff is teaching out his instincts?
this is just hate
They haven't had a chance to ruin him yet. Give them am offseason.

He'll be playing 10 yards off on third and 5, and allowing completions but being close enough to make the tackle after the first down before you know it.

And yes, I hate this defensive scheme. I admit it.

Ha! The prevent only prevents the using team from winning. Dreadful concept.
