Our D is not bad. What we still lack is that dominant 3 tech. That one piece would vault us into #1 D territory.

At first I misunderstood this stat. But aparently it is teh rate that other teams get first downs when they have the football. According to my calculation Dallas has given up the 2nd fewest first downs in the league behind Cleveland. But Dallas and Cleveland have on 8 games vs 9 for New Orleans and Baltimore. This stat is a measurement of the number of 1st downs per set of downs so the number of games is irrelevant.

This is an impressive stat but the 5-3 record shows the Cowboys have had some really good games and some not so good games. The Eagles had 20 first downs against Dallas, 10 passes, 7 rushes, and 3 penalty. The problem for Dallas is most of those 1st downs came on 4 TD drives - which shows that first downs is less important than rate of scoring drives allowed.

It is completely irrelevant that/if we haven't allowed one single player to rush/receive for 100 yds. ARI rushed for 222 yds against. 222. So, instead of repeating the irrelevant stat that it wasn't one player, explain to me why it matters? 49ers rushed for 170. It's not a victory that it wasn't one player.

Penalties affect rhythm, but doesn't deny momentum changes in correction.

This is being blind to overcoming and even in the career of McCarthy in Super Bowl 45. He had 6 starters out and was ranked #6 before beating Pittsburgh...in Dallas and Flozell Adams starting at RT for the Steelers.

I think I’ve seen that same stat. Other teams have gotten plenty of yards but have spread it around among their various receivers. the Cowboys are Lamb-dependent and the drop off is vast after him

We're killing it on 3rd and 4th then. However, that's tough to sustain. It has to he a hallmark of a poor running game though. Fix that, and those rates change dramatically
