Hate it. Mafe was a late 2nd rd pick prior to the combine, now he is a 1st rounder? He is a terrible run defender and is more of a rush specialist. Don't like the other two picks as well.

David Ojabo is already an example. I started watching him as a potential pass rushing draft pick for the Cowboys last year. Given the finish he had to the season, he quickly rise out of our range.

After the combine, Trevon Walker did as well.

It just reinforces the premium position of pass rusher. And why they’re getting huge paydays and guards are getting cut.

EDGE, Boye Mafe, and OT, Daniel Faalele, were the two Minnesota Gopher football players who took part in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Saturday afternoon. But it was Mafe who stole the show and, arguably, pumped his draft stock the most out of all participants. When the dust settled, he had 2 sacks, a forced fumble, 3 tackles for loss and was named the Senior Bowl National Player of the Game.

"I honestly hadn't been training with my hand on the ground. I got a call maybe five days before we showed up here and they said 'We want you to try putting your hand on the ground,'" Mafe said. "So I did it a few times in a workout beforehand, then I said 'OK, I'll come here and do it.'"

It worked out just fine, as Mafe logged a pair of sacks, another tackle for loss, and a forced fumble on Saturday.

"I was open ears when I got here ... I wanted to learn, to play my best ball," he said. "You've got to adapt to different defenses."

Now this is more legitimate to me coming from NFL.com. Thought J. Johnson was getting the most buzz, but it appears Mafe was getting similar attention based on this article. The fact is, he is a riser, but how far does he rise? We shall see next month.
