Jerry is in a pickle here. He needs to hire someone that's going to make a big enough splash to make him look smart. The national media is making him look like an old fool overplaying his hand with MM and screwing himself out of being able to talk to top tier assistant coaches on playoff teams last week.. Jerry needs a win. He needs it soon, and he'll pay for Dieon bc of who he is.

Jerry doesn't respect "walk around coaches". the same way he respects his former HOF players who have won super bowls for him. Dieon will forever be in Jerry's good graces for bringing him that post-Jimmy Super Bowl trophy. People may not remember, but that win meant a lot to Jerry b/c he felt it vindicated him. That's why we see Dieon in the ROH in spite of only being a cowboy for 5 seasons and less than half his career. If Jerry is going to open up his wallet for anyone, it's Dieon Sanders.

But in order to get to that point he would have to change things. They aren't sniffing a Superbowl with the way Jerry runs things.

He would need to hire an actual GM and also get out of the way of the coaches so that that players are held accountable.

The head coaching position of the Dallas cowboys should be the most desirable position in football. It's not simply because Jerry can't stay out of the way.

I agree. I just don't think he's worried about money either way. He's got more than he can spend. He wants to spend time with family and enjoy himself. He's never going to hire a GM b/c he's never had one. Jimmy Johnson did the GM work when he was in Dallas and I think that's what jerry wants from his coaches and scouting dept. He wants player names that they want so he can make it happen.
