AIKMAN DOESN’T OWN ANY PORTION OF THE RAIDERS

In response to a published report from earlier this month suggesting that Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman owns a minority stake in the Raiders, we’ve learned that Aikman had no interest, directly or indirectly, in the team.

Last year, a 20-percent stake in the team was sold to a group of investors. Aikman wasn’t one of them.

Under the deal, the minority owners have no authority whatsoever regarding the operation of the team.

Meanwhile, a media source in the Bay Area tells us that the Raiders seem to be on track for a sellout of their home venue for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. So the turmoil engulfing coach Lane Kiffin apparently isn’t affecting fan interest, yet.

Guys a millionaire ..... he prolly has stocks in lots of places.

Um, Aikman is a millionaire, yes.

But it takes megamillionaires to own even portions of teams.

I don't see him making it as an owner cashwise. Maybe a small, greeter-type ownership like Magic Johnson with the Lakers, but not any big part of a franchise. It simply is not doable for an Aikman or Elway alone.

But with big financial partners, yes.

And that might be the only way for Aikman to become an owner some day.

I wouldn't buy into anything that Al Davis was the majority owner in. The guy is highly intelligent, but as become way to eratic.

Not really, Elliot Perry is a minority owner of the Memphis Grizzlies and he's no megamillionaire. It depends on how much of a share he owns.

Aikman has enough money to be part of the ownership of a NASCAR team. That ain't cheap, but it does take a lot of money to be one of the guys actually in charge.

Your right. I own one half of all the shares in the Coffee Maker in my office. I have exclusive rights to paying for the Coffee, getting the water to make the Coffee and washing my Coffee cup. It's all a matter of the Value Statement.

Hmmm...interesting story that has ultimately been proven to be untrue. Yet another thing that the Raiders suck at.
