The Las Vegas television station KVBC is reporting that an arrest has been made in the robbery and beating of Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker.

The Associated Press quotes a Las Vegas police officer as saying one man was charged with multiple felonies including kidnapping and robbery. Police are looking for a second suspect.

Walker was found unconscious early in the morning on June 16 near the Las Vegas Strip. He said he had been beaten at the door of his hotel room and dragged outside, but security camera footage reportedly provided evidence to refute that claim.

Walker was treated at a Las Vegas hospital for a concussion and facial injuries. He said he was robbed of $3,000 in cash and $100,000 in jewelry.

$100,000 in Jewelry??!!

I am from Vegas (from as a little kid at least until I was finally able to escape after college). It took me years not to always have to know who was around me at all times while walking around. I am sorry, I don't want to seem insensitive, but he is really lucky all he got was a little beating. I think that the area he was found in was not all that great either...near the Hard Rock I think.

I love how everyone takes things literal around here. Nobody thinks he "deserved" to be robbed, maybe he should have said "he was asking to be robbed". Do you like that better?

Because he sure was asking for it! Idiot!!!!!

I live in Vegas for 5 years now. It is no different than any other big city. It is important to know where you are at all times and be congnizant of the people and things around you... That being said, it isn't as crazy as some would make it out to be. Sure, there are bad parts of town but for the most part you know when you are in those areas and know to be even more vigilant.

Yes. You're right. Please, forgive me for taking things literally. From now on I'll know better, and automatically assume that stupid comments are all jokes. Thanks for your help.

what's weird about what you said is I am from dallas, and I am not at all afraid of any part of it. I have been to them all and never not once have I paid it any attention at all. I freak out in other cities though, houston for one freaks me out.

I hear you, maybe it just has to do with familiarity. Personally, I get somewhat freaked out when in the Metroplex because I don't know it at all. I will say though that when I went to the cotton bowl to watch Tech and USC, that was BY FAR the scariest neighborhood I have ever seen, hands down and I was young and stupid then, but scared to death of that area.

Funny, I'm not nervous in any part of Houston or pretty much any major city.

The only city that caused me *concern* was N.O. I wasn't staying in a nice part of it and it was really grimy.

Live in the Bronx for about a week and no other city in the world will scare you anymore.

Houston scared the crap out of me when I went down there to buy a car one time. Maybe it was the wad of cash in my pocket, but man I was on edge that whole trip.

I have friends native to NO and they tell me you do have to be careful which streets you turn on. That was before Katrina, maybe it has changed.

I guess I am just paranoid all to hell or maybe it this military training I still here that echo to this day stay alert stay alive rumbling threw the brain.

I am always looking at who is around me and where they are at so forth.

Small hick town or big city; I also walk with a certain matter fact attitude that I am sure helps as well.

Now that I think about it I am just crazy

I'm scared to death in any big city. I went to watch the Cowboys this year, and was nervous every minute in town. The stadium was great...and it was well worth it.

I've grown up in small towns my whole life. I feel claustrophobic in cities...they're just so cramped.

We're going to St. Louis next week so my wife can watch her beloved Cardinals. I'll be nervous about going there too.
