With Josh Gordon potentially facing a suspension, Cleveland needs help at wide receiver. Miles Austin will provide just that.

The Browns announced today that Austin has agreed to terms.

Austin has spent his entire career in Dallas, and the Cowboys said this week that they were interested in bringing him back. Instead, he’ll head to Cleveland, where he could be the No. 1 receiver if Gordon is suspended. Right now the receiver depth chart after Gordon is thin, with Greg Little, Andrew Hawkins, Nate Burleson and Travis Benjamin as the top four.

But if healthy, Austin could be a valuable part of Cleveland’s offense.
That is a big 'but if healthy' that I wouldn't count on. Good luck Cleveland you will need it.

after they didn't draft a WR and the Gordon news came out i figured we'd see either Miles or Santonio heading to Cleveland.

good for him i hope he can bounce back and stay healthy

Nice weapon for Hoyer and JF to throw to. Nice low risk/ high reward signing IMO.

(Until he pulls his hammy in first 5 games or so)

Let's see, .. the cold weather of Cleveland by the lake, .. and dainty hamstrings, ... not a good combination.

Browns fans around me are extremely excited about this pick up and are calling me a hater for pointing out the hammy problems Miles has had. They even told me to not try to jump on their "bandwagon" because my team blows. They are VERY confident fans already and training camp hasn't even started yet. I wish Miles the best but I'm glad he won't be a cowboy.

After a few months with the team, I'd love to pick Austin's brain about comparing and contrasting Gordon and Bryant.

Austin is a quality receiver, but I will give the Browns fans a year before they start asking why he stands on the sidelines so much.

I wish Miles the best of luck but the hamstring issues are not some 1 year thing he has been contending with it most of his career. Not sure what kind of contract he got with cleveland
