2024 would be too late if they dont extend Dak and fix that hit, Im not sure how so many of the "Daks money blah blah blah" crowd doesnt know this.

I expect Lance to be the backup eventually because of his running ability but if Dak gets injured before a game Rush would get the start.

If he earns it fine, but if it’s because Jerry is forcing things so he can try to appear smart then it’s going to be a disaster. Lance hasn’t proven he can play at all yet and cooper is better than some starters in the league

I mean i give Rush credit for not losing 4 games but lets be real, if he was better than ONE starter in the league that team would've plucked him up this season for cheap and gave him a chance..again every GM in this league saw multiple real game film on him and NONE of them even invited him into camp to compete for a job...on the cheap even

Lance will get a chance to do something in the next two seasons. It may be only one opportunity but it will be more than a shot in the dark.

His signing is a shot in the dark. Low risk, why the hell not, possible big payday.

Hes not going to get anything until he proves he can be a QB in the NFL. Which he hasnt shown anything close thus far.

That would be a HELL TO THE NO! Why a 4th rd draft pick was used to obtain this 3rd string QB on the 9ers is mind boggling! Both the 9er GM and HC were elated that a team was stupid enough to offer up a high pick. They never expected to fleece a team this bad once they announced that Lance was named as the 3rd string QB.

I’d take him in New Orleans, Arizona, Houston, Tennessee, Atlanta, Carolina, Oakland, and Cleveland, would’ve added NYJ had they not traded for Rodgers…lol and based on last years performance….Denver….

Backup QBs get very few practice reps during the regular season. Lance isn’t going to be able to overtake Rush this season, unless Rush has to play for an extended period and plays poorly, forcing the Cowboys to have to go to Lance.

Jerry traded picks for Drew Henson at one time. Lance represents no pressure because he can't play. If I were Dak I'd just say, "this is it, huh? Well, good luck. Someone will pay me what I want and you can start this kid".

Also, me not liking Lance doesn’t mean I’m a Dak lover. It just means I don’t like Lance.

He’s a complete gamble but gambles are worth 4th rounders so we’ll see how it plays out.

I like the timeline but there is no such thing as a team friendly deal on a Good NFL QB... you guys need to get this, if Trey Lance show the goods and starts for the Cowboys in 2025-2026 HE WILL BE GETTING PAID probably more than Dak by that time...
