A reminder for members who may not read it in (every time) in the gameday thread:

Threads created during the game will be automatically deleted.

There are plenty of non-threads to post Dak Prescott-related comments. Dak Prescott comments in the gameday thread will be deleted. That may also hold true for Trey Lance comments.

IMHO Lance makes the 53. You don’t give up a 4th round pick now and cut the guy hoping he doesn’t get claimed. That would be an idiotic move.

I think Dak and Lance make the 53 and Rush and Grier get cut. I don’t think that Rush has to clear waivers and he reverts back to the practice squad as QB2, initially.
He has to. Game day requires 3 active QB's. Grier has already been told he is gone

2024 would be too late if they dont extend Dak and fix that hit, Im not sure how so many of the "Daks money blah blah blah" crowd doesnt know this.
Daks contract is made in such a way that restructuring is a necessity . The cowboys have known this all along and are all in on Dak

The Dak denying crowd are either too stupid or too stubborn to get this or they are just trolling we have all 3 here

Grest move. You can carry a backup qb for games and actually use that qb during games. It won’t be. A wasted gameday roster spot.

It's completely possible Lance becomes QB2.

I mean...he sucks....and will never become a competent NFL QB ..... but he very well may become QB2.

This is thing about Lance. Right now he is nowhere close to Dak as a quarterback or even Cooper Rush but in two years would you rather have Lance on a team friendly deal or a 32 year old Dak making 50 million with a 200 million guarantee. Believe the Joneses are looking at this when you gotta pay CeeDee and Parsons top of the market value.
I think this is a 3-4 yr plan and a Dak extension. No way you could go with Lance next year and Daks contract is not one where you can go into the next year without an extension.

I don't think so. I'm betting Lance is as excited about getting out of Frisco as I'll be when I finally leave Austin. If he ever develops into a decent player, it'll be long-term.

He has tools and talent. But lacks intuition, instinct and processing speed.

I believe there'll be a surprise player cut and that that player ends up on the 9ers.

I’d take him in New Orleans, Arizona, Houston, Tennessee, Atlanta, Carolina, Oakland, and Cleveland, would’ve added NYJ had they not traded for Rodgers…lol and based on last years performance….Denver….
But none of the GM's did, again I'm not making the desicion the actuall people with job's on the line didn't even invite him to camp to compete for a backup/maybe start job on the cheap...they have all seen plenty of what he can do and not 1 brought him in.

Fair point…but based on SFs drafting of Lance and then our trading for him shows just how bad most of them are at their jobs…

Not really how much film can you show me of NCAA QB's playing NFL football before the draft? Its the hardest scouting job in the world.. Does this kids college QB game translate into an NFL QB game...

Still…you’d think they’d do better than most rando internet board posters yet here we are…

People think that Trey Lance is just going to walk in here and magically become an NFL ready QB. There was a reason that SF let him go so easily. There are several videos of him showing bad footwork, bad reads and a second or two late on his throws. The same exact thing that Dak is criticised for. Now his going to be the heir apparent to Dak in a couple of years is just fantasy. They would have been better off drafting a QB in the 4th. If I recall wasn't Dak drafted in the 4th round?
