Well that didn;t take long. Bringing Romo in to protect your boy. Good work.
And he will drop his boy like a hot potato the second he leaves the team. The tune will change to "I knew he was never good enough to win anything meaningful. All those flashy stats that never amounted to anything".

And then he will latch on to the replacement like a fly to poop.

Considering Romo never led the NFL in interceptions in a season where he missed a single game (not 5 like Dak did this year), it couldn't hurt. (He did tie Drew Brees for most in the NFC once while playing all 16 games).

That was meant to mean this - stop going back to Romo, he hasn't been the QB in 9 years.
I'll go back to Romo as much as I want whether you like it or not, especially when it's to prove a point y'all refused to use against Romo but daily use against Dak. As for Romo, it's been 7 full seasons he hasn't been the QB in Dallas, not 9.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys spent time this offseason dissecting his interceptions

Not keeping Amari Cooper cost Dak and the Jonesboys 14 TDs and 5 ints. It is just that simple.

Dak had the same type year in 2017 with poor WR play (Dez played injured), no no.1 TE(no Witten)), and a new C (no Frederick). His play is consistent excluding those bad years of no supporting cast of 2017 and 2022. But if you look closer, he played better with less in 2022 versus 2017.

Doesn't take a genius to figure it out....two things. His scatter arm which throws buck shots, and he stares down his receiver. Both allow DBs to make plays on the ball. This is his 8th freaking year.....FIX IT......
So all them ints that bounced out of ceedee, Schultz and browns hands didn't inflate those int numbers?

Not sure why we act like Dak has been an INT machine his whole career, last year is obviously an outlier when looking at his overall interceptions. Just like 2021 he had fumble-itis that was corrected the next year.

Yes, there has to be a dive into what occurred last year. But acting like the dudes accuracy is the reason he threw all those picks makes zero sense lol. We’re saying he suddenly just got worse at interceptions because his accuracy fell off a cliff?

Logical and many times more likely factors for the increase in interceptions are:

1. Drop off in WR talent/separation (many WR separation stats have us amongst the bottom in the league).
2. Drop off in pass protection (many pass pro metrics have us in the bottom third).
3. Increase in aggressive passing game (the rise in option pass calls downfield despite the TO’s that came with it and Mike’s statements on Moore’s departure show this was an issue).
4. Dak trying to do more than in the past due to the need to make up for Cooper and OL pass pro regression.

At the end of the day Dak is good but not elite. Can’t ask him to makeup for all those offensive regressions while being more aggressive on top of that, though you’d like a bit more cleanliness from a 7 year vet. And before the “but we pay him like he’s elite” thing, please get over the fact that non-elite QB’s get paid elite money due to market and scarcity. We get it, that’s not how it should be logically, but it is what it is. Anyone who’s 15th or better (see Daniel Jones) gets top of the market $$. Simple as that.

Well said!

Dak could throw 1 int in 2023 and they'll still talk about the ints in 2022

I think there are a few factors:
  • Option routes and not being on the same page as receivers
  • A predictable response to what the defense shows on the field pre-snap (defenses baiting him)
  • Too many comeback routes that started to get jumped
  • Inaccurate arm
  • Receivers that struggled to seperate overall (tight when bode throws)
  • A little too clever play calling in key moments
Your 4th bullet sums it up...

I would also add that having two offensive minds with different ideas on how reads should be made in his ear at the same time.

Dak: "That one was on Lamb."

Dak: ".. and that one was on Gallup."

Dak: ".. and that one was on me .. wait a minute .. no, that one was on Lamb also."

Dak: ".. and that one was on .. who's that guy standing on the sideline right there? It was on him."

Dak: ".. and that one was on Jason Garrett."

Dak: ".. and that one was on whoever was supposed to be covering that cornerback."

Depends on how many attempts he makes. He makes one attempt and throws an interception and then is out for the season? Oh yeah, fans are going to talk about that interception :D

Now if he plays 16 games and throws for 300+ attempts and only throws one interception, then I doubt Dak haters would harp much on that interception.

The Dak haters would find other things to complain about though unless the Cowboys win a Super Bowl and the homers would be the ones talking non-stop about that 1 interception. :D
