what I dont get is why is synder being investigated by nfl, for similar things, but jerry isnt ??
Snyder was actually pimping out his cheerleaders and created a toxic work environment for women.

This isn't even related to what Snyder has supposedly done. He was running a good old boys club within his organization and not limited to the cheerleaders. He was making things uncomfortable for the squaws.

OK, I know that's not pc but it is at least a little funny and dovetails nicely, donchyathink?

I am thankful for this because it's refreshing to discuss this instead of the annual overpaying his own and shopping the blue light specials in free agency.

It never changes, just the names change.

Its more of a cheerleader rule than a player rule. Players can't have their contracts terminated for dating cheerleaders, but cheerleaders can get dropped for dating players. I get it. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are a brand and they protect it with all kinds of rules promoting an outdated notion of virtue. I'm sure Jerry is fine with it b/c its less competition for him and his buddies.

I just remember a game, not sure the teams, but there was a player dating a cheerleader of the opposing team. Not sure where the conflict is in that situation. It's not like the players have any authority over the cheerleaders or vice versa.

That would depend on exactly what he knew about the extracurricular activities of his boss. If Dalrymple did these things, think he's not going to be a hole card player?

I think he, at least, pulled the dressing room caper and as long as only a few knew, no problem. That ESPN reporter blew on that ember and started the fire. This mysterious ex exec is our new reliable source. I missed our old reliable source. Only I am sure they're not the same, I think the son is the reliable source and the planter of the evil seeds.

Anyone that looks at how that entire family has treated Dalrymple's retirement and thinks there's nothing there is inhaling sand.

you are so stuck in the thought that Jerry has done bad things and the peeping tom has knowledge of it. You so want this to be about Jerry being such a bad guy. That would make you so happy if Jerry was caught in some scandal.

I don't know how the sports world's big mouth "quietly" fires the PR guy and the liaison to the media.
Probably by letting him “retire” in 2015 as they did a few weeks ago when they knew this story was about to go public. I believe that’s why Dalrymple retired when he did. He knew this was about to go public because of the work done by that ESPN reporter who opened the story to the public.

The rules were set up by Schramm and the first director when they formed the Cheerleaders. I think they could see some potential problems with them allowed to date and also with the image they wanted to project.

When they found out, Aikman didn't get cut, the cheerleaders did. I guess they both saw that as a reasonable risk and it's not like the cheerleaders last a high paying job. No big bucks for belly buttons.

Apparently both of them were married to other people when this pic was shot. For whatever reason it wasn't published for 2 decades.

I was surprised to find that Schramm showed Landry Debbie Does Dallas because he was calling the cheerleaders, "porn."

Two points:
  • I never said I wanted “heads to roll”. I just wanted them to get to the truth. I think all healthy organizations would want to know what really happened. Get all the facts before shelling out a penny. Because they did an “in-house” investigation, it looks like they just wanted this to all to go away.
  • It’s incorrect to say “the perp was quietly sent packing” because this incident happened in 2015. Dalrymple was allowed to work 6+ years after this happened. His retirement was quiet but he was not sent away after this happened. Would a healthy organization allow a guy who may have done these things to stay employed six years?
If my organization had some kind of accusation like this, I would want to know from an independent investigation what really happened before I shelled out $2.4 mil in settlement.

How do you know they didn't get the truth...lol

Reid, my problem with this situation is the Cowboys’ “internal investigation” that sewed this whole thing up.

An independent investigation done by professionals would have been the appropriate thing to do. Especially if they were intent on credibility. Internal investigations conducted by the accused don’t exactly give me confidence in their “findings”.

Do you think if Tesla has a sexual harassment complaint they would hire outside investigators?
If San Diego State had a claim of sexual harassment, who would handle the investigation? HR, not outside investigators.

The Cowboys owe nothing to anyone outside of the ladies involved, and they seemed to sign an agreement and were happy with that agreement. Case closed.

this is hilarious. You actually think Jerry needs ti try and date cheerleaders? He is a billionaire. Ever see a RICH old guy have an affair and it be with 75 year olds?
Why was hugh heffner with smoking hot females his entire life? Im sure his personality is pretty good, but so is mine, but Farrah Fawcet wasnt gonna date me.

Yeah I don't understand the need some seem to feel to hold the Cowboys to a standard that no other large business entity is held.. which is that they are supposed to air all their laundry for all to see all the time. Wells Fargo maintains a 2.5 BILLION dollar fund annually just for lawsuit settlements. I know because I was a party in several class action lawsuits against them when they held my mortgage and received multiple settlement checks from those suits. Some were tiny.. others were a few hundred bucks. Not much for one person but if they had to write that check to 50 to 100 thousand customers.. well you get the picture. I got curious about how much money they were having to pay out for all their wrongdoing and read through their annual report a couple of times. I was floored. They actually set aside BILLIONS of dollars every year just to make lawsuits go away. It may be more now because that was some years ago and thankfully when I moved to Texas I was smart enough not to use them. I suspect every other large bank has a similar fund.. Why aren't people screaming to know all the lawsuits they pay off every single year?

P.S. if you have a mortgage with Wells Fargo.. I'd do what I could to move off of it.. They are crooked as the Mississippi River Delta. IMHO of course.

This true...I just received from Wells Fargo a $675.00 settlement check from them about two weeks ago and did not know why they sent it to me. I don't have a mortgage but I did have a Visa from them that has since been cancelled by me. Reading the letter it appears that it had something to do with people using their Visa to buy stuff overseas and somehow or the other a class action law suit was filed against them. Well, turn out since I was a customer I got a share of the law suit. I would have no idea how many other got checks, but, hey, I was happy.

Unfortunately most big banks are crooked as hell. I have also received settlement checks from Bank of American and Chase over the years as well as I have had accounts with them over the years too. I still have BofA because my main bank is a credit union and it's just easier to deal with ATMs overseas with a big bank as I found out when I used to take 2-3 trips abroad for work every year. I imagine things may have gotten better in that department in recent years but I keep the BofA account just in case the company starts sending us overseas again. Oh if you want to know how many other people got checks you can go look up the case number on the Federal court website and somewhere in the docs it will tell you how many plaintiffs were listed. Chances are all of those people got checks.. none as big as the lawyers though.. Sometimes the agreements are sealed from public view though. Because the big companies don't want people being able to easily reference these cases in future lawsuits. Which I don't understand frankly since lawyers all have access to the case logs, sealed or not.. At least I think they do.

Yeah, the letter that came with the check did not mention specifics, just maybe 40 or 50 words that I did not really understand, it just stated that a class action was made and here is my prize! lol

I remember going to Dallas for a game vs Buffalo around 2011 and reading that a Bills player was in a relationship with a Dallas cheerleader.

Maybe thats what you're thinking of.

It wasn't a big deal or a problem.

I think I remember that. He was a receiver and caught a TD and ran over to the Dallas Cheerleaders and gave the football to her.
