Eliminate the stupid penalties and avoid shooting themselves in the foot would be good first steps.

If they could consistently score 34-35 points each week the defense is good enough to win a lot of ball games.

That's a high bar. Not too many teams consistently score 34-35 points each week. New England, which is leading the league in scoring this year, is averaging 30 points per game. Last year, Kansas City was the only team that averaged 35 points per game (although two others were in the low 30s). The scoring leader in 2017 average 29.9 points per game.

Realistically, 28.4 is not a bad average. Our problem is that we've scored 24 points or less in all three of our losses and our defense didn't play well enough in two of those losses for that to be enough.

If we can just stop with the freaking penalties after we cross midfield we could score a lot more points.

We need to lead the league in TD not yards. Step it up guys.
Pretty obvious something's missing.......add this to a D stat of us being #6, we should have a min two more wins. I can't put my fingers on it but I'm guessing mistakes/penalties are playing a major role.

They are not efficient at scoring points. They require a lot of yards to score points.

The Pats are the best in this stat on both offense and defense.

It’s not likely we’ll end up 1st in offense after these stretch of games coming up in second half of season.

That's kinda misleading since we also near the bottom in average starting position, so of course we need more yards to score. We are 3rd in the league in Net Points/drive

Aye that’s a tougher task. Not many good defenses left to do it against.
When Romo was here I had trust in him and the team now hard to have trust in what we have now they seem to be more inconsistent.( I am talking as a team)

Simple...mistakes (dropped balls errant passes being out of position in D), penalties (especially at the wrong time- e.g. on scoring plays or big 3rd down conversions), and turnovers:lack of creating turnovers. Take care of at least the penalties and win the turnover battle and I believe Dak is right...nobody can beat the Cowboys. The difference between 8-0 and 5-3 is purely self inflicted mistakes.

I like the horse that crosses the CD finish line first, not the leader going into the second turn. Hope we cross the finish line first.

I guess but they're 5-3 after that cream puff first half schedule so I couldn't possibly care less about stats like this.
Risen--i agree..first half was the easy half and 5-3 is not good...really should be 7-1 or maybe 6-2 at worst....now we are going to need fortunate help..like how ball bounces...or...refs not calling O Line holding near as much...and mistakes by opponents and we capitlize on them and we dont shoot ourselves in foot and our offense and defense play to their potential?..a lot to ask...but we put ourselves in this predictament
