Is there a difference between 34-10 and 34-7? Be exciting the rest of the year. While we're at it, they should always go for 2. They could have lost that game 34-8.

Don't disagree with you there.
Although I don't mind some field goals if the game looks to be an offensive ineptitude game. Like the Giants game coming up lol.
3-0 may win that game. So, on 2nd thought, I agree about not kicking field goals either.

I felt the same way. My thought was because of who you have currently on the field. The odds of this offensive group on the field committing a mistake or failing to execute a play (4th down in this instance) are currently at their highest. I had no faith they could continue on after the penalty and get a touchdown. Maybe a shorter FG yes but I felt pretty solid the unit would walk away with a shorter FG or nothing. What a mess things are. I'm resigned to trying to watch player development for a future that is restricted by the GM.
That’s what I’m doing, I’m watching the games looking at who really wants to play. Even though I have no control of who I would get rid of. I would be like preseason evaluating my talent.

It was the right move. Going for it on 4th down at the 5 was dumb. Fake punt early in the game was stupid. But any team would have accepted the personal foul.
Yep, you have to take the chance to extend the drive that was 100% the right call. Later in the drive I know it would be disappointing settling for another 3 points, but you're down 2 possessions, the defense was playing decent, and you need the points. That decision to go for it on the failed 4th down changed the momentum and from there the game imploded.

Any football decision during a game has to way in a lot of factors:
the current situation as regards who is playing well and who is not on both teams
who is healthy and who is not and who is playing and who is not
momentum
time left
score
and finally what does your gut say

taking points off the board is ONLY justifiable if you believe you can get more and it better be a strong belief

we had failed again and again and only had a TD because of a long pass play

taking a long FG off the board risks the momentum you have from the drive and that

and the D had been playing pretty well

I think you have to take the points

I think you get a 15 yard penalty and an automatic first down you have to take the penalty and a fresh set of downs. There is a chance they score a TD, but you have to think you can at least get the FG back if you can't get the TD. I mean you have the best kicker in the league you can't lack the confidence to use him. But if you use that thinking, then when it is 4th and 5 you have to kick the FG.
Agree!! I get taking the penalty to get a first down. But, going for it on 4th down was dumb. Take the 3 points to improve your score!! But, we ended up with zero!! Brilliant!!

No ot dint fact they had 2nd chance at short FG right after that and went for if. That was the mistake!! BTW the missed 40 yarders also big hmm so let's talk about how we're trying to pick a play decision or series to blame on the loss..LMAO ok sure umm NO!! they're just bad too many injuries before the game in the game and BUs being backups
