To top it off, Clayton was right. Jeremy Shockey is a gifted athlete. To deny that is silly, BUT he's also a selfish diva that rattles the cage rather than doing his job. The reason that Boss seemed to be more effective than Shockey is that Boss was a lot more disciplined in executing his assignment rather than using his athleticism to try and make plays outside the framework of the play that was called.
Eli Manning looked much more comfortable with Boss in there because he KNEW that Boss was going to be exactly where the play-call was designed for him to be. Shockey may be the better athlete (in fact, he is, it's not even debatable) but Boss is the better football player/TE because of his willingness to execute his assignment rather than always trying to make the big play through improvisation and then crying about his role on the team.
