He’s one of the top pass rushers in the game. He’s 25 years old. The going rate is now $40 million. Like the Ceedee contract, this one should be extremely easy to get done if we had a competent front office.

Ceedee and Micah are the two guys on the team that are elite players, young, not out there beat up their spouses and getting arrested. Yet people will still complain.

The Jones boys probably sit back and read the garbage on the forums and laugh their ***** off. Just draw out negotiations to stay in the news and half the fans will blame the player.

A lot of these deals get done bc money in hand is always worth more and health is not a given. There is no strategy here. Its incompetence.
 
Parsons has already set himself up for argumentative dealings by stating that he's willing to allow the Cowboys less than a maximum deal this season. That's just what this FO wants to hear. If the deal gets argumentative, Micah has nobody to blame but himself. He'll likely be expected to keep his word. Now the FO all the ammo they need to argue. Micah should have remained silent. Advantage, Cowboys.

To his credit, Parsons one of the very few superstars I can remember who didn't complain about his rookie deal salary. The dude is going to get market rate, whatever it is, from somebody. The Cowboys need to rebuild their roster and would be out of their minds to apply $130M of salary cap to 3 existing players on the roster.
