it has 'sweet FA' to do with MLK either, but here you are bringing it up. And what the hell are the 'heals of MLK's holiday'? It ain't the twelve days of Christmas... that was Monday, today is Friday. Maybe it's you who should give it a rest with your racial crusades.

as soon as some folks give it a rest with their thinly veiled racism.

Jerry initially said he's not going to let Ireland leave until after the draft. I'm sure Huizinga politely reminded him of the personal favor he gave Jerry letting him have Garrett when he had every right to deny Garrett the chance to even interview. Jerry isn't going to do or say anything about this.

Second, every General Manager has to answer to the VP of Football Operations or the Owner. That doesn't mean general manager isn't a promotion over the glass ceiling position he had here. Otherwise Ireland wouldn't have taken it.

But. but he doesn't have FINAL SAY! I DEMAND Jerry Jones get compensation! Why doesn't the NFL step and DO SOMETHING!

Instead of fighting it, take advantage of it.

Jerry should just hire Charger's uber-draft guru, Buddy Nix, as "GM" (retaining CEO and President titles for himself).

Buddy Nix loves scouting and being on the road finding talent. When Nix is not on the road, he resides in Alabama even tho he is the Asst GM for the Chargers. That would be the perfect set up for Jerry, a draft genius who is content with what he does best, a GM in name only.

Jerry will still have final say will giving the power of "final say" to Nix.

Is he available, Silver? He does sound perfect. And you know Wade's told Jerry about him. Wade's talked about working closely with both John Butler and AJ Smith, so it's not like he never interacted with the personnel people.

I just wonder if Nix is under contract.
