“He fundamentally carries the ball really sound,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “He carries it. He carries it up against him. We won’t get into all of that detail, but if you asked the question: Is he very sound in the way he holds the football? He is.”

Jones said the fumbles won’t result in Elliott getting less playing time.

“No. They will not, at all,” Jones said. “He’s a big man and he carries it properly. He does a good job of finishing, which means he’s trying to give the tacklers more than he’s getting in terms of how you absorb hits. All of that makes him a sound ball carrier fumbling wise.”

I know the joke is that Jones is in charge etc., Morris is outplaying Elliott yadda yadda...

The reality is Ezekiel Elliott will get every opportunity to prove he was worth #4 overall. And if you were in Jones' shoes, you'd ensure that was the case as well.

Zeke will be fine. I think vs Chicago will be his breakout game.

He's signed for 5 years at least, there's plenty of time for him to earn the starting position.

This is literally the last thing I'm worried about.

Elliott fumbled once in college. Once. He holds the ball right, and he doesn't have a history. That second one on Sunday was a perfect helmet to the ball. It happens.

Murray used to drive me crazy the way he held the ball.

He actually does carry the ball really well. I don't expect fumbling to be an issue for EE his whole career. Though he's going to get tested hard the next few weeks thanks to his mistakes on Sunday.

Beautifully classic example of Jerry Speak.

Bruh, what are you talking about??

You can use this as a template for answering any question.

"Did you take a shower this morning?"

"I fundamentally took a shower this morning. I cleaned it. I cleaned it with water. We won't get into all that detail, but if you asked the question: Did I clean myself by taking a shower? I did."

It's like Jerry comes on these boards, sees what the talk of the town is, and then makes a comment to troll and watch the fire go.

No the local media is on these boards looking at what the die hards are talking about. Then every Tuesday in 105.3 they ask him questions we are all talking about.

I heard Eric Dickerson speaking on EzE and he said himself he didn't get going till the 4th game, his first game was against the giants also, 31 carries 91 yards, 2.9 ypc , he said the game will slow down for him Alot sooner then we all think , just be patient

Someone on TV actually made a decent point on the fumbles. He said in College the defense is tacking the running back, especially one like Zeke who can make them look silly, the defender is solely concentrating on getting the RB on the ground. In the NFL, they tackle the Football. Its a completely different running environment that all RB have t get used to in the NFL. The different way defenders attack the ball in the NFL and the lack of playing time in the Preseason, may have caught Zeke by surprise. Hopefully this is not an issue moving forward.

People thought because of 7 carries and a hit on a safety in the preseason that he wasnt going to need to adjust. They dont look any more silly now than they did then.
