Jerry Jones: Ezekiel Elliott ruling a “setback,” but there’s more to come

The ruling found that the NFLPA’s filing was premature because it came before the NFL’s arbitration process had run its course, leaving the district court without “subject matter jurisdiction” as a result. The ruling put Elliott’s suspension in place immediately, but Jones didn’t sound like he was resigned to life with Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden in the backfield during a Friday appearance on 105.3 The Fan,

“This was a setback yesterday. There’s still more to come,” Jones said.

Wait, I thought he and Mara controlled the NY courts? Maybe there is no limit to their reach. Which SCOTUS justices are in their pocket?
He's the one that put this in motion. He ignored his own investigator. He has that agreement with the NFLPA in his pocket. Doesn't matter about the courts because Goodell is going to win. The courts are really irrelevant. Yea unless you get to the Supreme Court which is never going to happen.

You would think Kraft, Snyder and Jones would lobby the other owners to get rid of Goodell but the fact he is keeping their wallets fat tells you where the importance of all this falls

The "impartial" hearing by Harold Henderson was a joke.

I think most rational people are fine with the punishment if there truly was violence. But the mere fact that Gooddell ignored his own investigators findings and still gave him 6 games, makes this very hard to stomach.
It's obvious that keeping the judicial power of the CBA is more inportant than actually determining if Zeke was guilty of the crime and that is a travesty.

If the filing was thrown out because it was premature why can't we just now file it?

I think they are weighing their options since they have some time with the bye week. They can try and re-file in TX, File in NY or go back to the 5th Circuit and ask for a full review instead of the 3-judge panel that just made the decision.

He's Kraft's best friend. That's why he still has a job, otherwise they could have swapped him already with some other figurehead.

Jerry needs to start flexing more muscle.

Jerry the home team lost... Sucks for Zeke, because all of the evidence points to he didn't do anything wrong. At the end of the day yes the team suffers in the short term 6-games, but Zeke will be hurt by lack of guaranteed money, endorsements, and the fact he can have a lifetime ban. What's even worse about that is the lead investigator said don't suspend, now Rog has set a precedent and he has to hold himself to that. So Zeke could be out with friend (normal for a 22 year old) be in an area and a chick accuse him of something and boom his career is done. IMO, the NFL should've really looked into this the right way knowing the potential outcome to one of their players.

How is he keeping their wallets fat? I think he's costing them money.

Goodell is a politician. He understands that he serves the majority. That's his game and business and he is good at it. Jerry has had is issues with the league and probably doesn't have the clout to get Goodell sacked.
